被忽略的小鎮 A Neglected Town // 地摩 Temoh

Temoh is a small sleepy town located in between Bidor and Kampar, Perak. It is suitable for a brief stopover if we are taking the toll free road.
Captured entirely using Panasonic Lumix S1 in V-log with a just one vintage zoom lens (Tokina 28-70mm) in a July afternoon.
Color graded to own taste using emotive color's S1Alex as base, added some film grain and halation, finished in Davinci Resolve Studio 18.

There are a few towns in Perak that in declined because young people migrate to bigger towns or cities. Even the kampungs houses in Perak are neglected . Houses have become Home Stays . Population in Perak is aging.

I was born not far from this town. Kpg Hj Ariff. It's a mining town during its heyday. Now not only the town is deserted but also the villages have become almost like a ghost village. Most of the younger generation migrated to the cities for greener pastures.

Almost a dead sad looking town with only a handful of shops open. Even the tiny Chinese village is lonely and quiet. Wonder what is the past like behind the “abandoned” facade ? Are there children still? Never seen one even though I passed Temoh almost monthly last year to reach Kampar as my son was studying in UTAR. Wish in future that you can go through the same places in your video and interview the residents , perhaps they will show you some past photos and also share with you their heartfelt feelings and dreams

@@rainbowcolour5909 my mother was from the town of Kulai in Johor. It was a trunk road between township that got forgotten with major highways. But as people looked for cheaper housing in the outskirts, it has gained even wider prominence than ever before. May the same be for Temoh.

As a former travelling salesman, I used to stop at a coffee shop/restaurant to savour its widely famous pork dumpling (Sang Yoke Pau), which were available at around 3 pm. If my memory serves me well, it's adjacent to a Shell petrol station. After getting my pau fix, I'd head straight to Tapah before proceeding to Teluk Intan. Boy! That was 10 years ago. How time has flown!

This is beautiful.. the sight is so nostalgic of my past. I was born 1975..an era of rapid tech shift in Malaysia.. from white screen cinema at a paddy field to 65 inch LED tv, from physical mail letter and money order to email and online transfer, and etc.. it shows how my life is so short and i should appreciate what i have now rather than thinking what i should have.. 😢

Before Plus highway was built, there was much more activity. Now it's only a pale shadow of itself. Not many young people at all. It's known as a cowboy town, same like Papan.

My dad's hometown. Used to be very happening place, but now only go back once a year during Ching Ming. Wonder it will still exist after 10 years later as what's left there are people > 60 years old as younger generations have left this town to elsewhere to earn a living.

不經意看到这視頻。当第一眼見到畫面時很熟悉这場景的老建築,果然是霹雳的一小镇原来它叫Temoh。想当年（60-80年代）从槟城前往怡保必經这小鎮但从來没停駐過。自从南北大道开啟後很少走旧道;最後一次经过这小鎮是参觀附近的旅遊点Kellie堡。剛讀到有人留言这仍有美味鱼湯。也许年纪大了每次操舊路（联邦大道）南下时;經过任何小鎮 腦裏总是滿滿童/少年思念回忆。🤔
