In 1996, in HK, my workmate told me that his young wife went to a job interview. The boss told her that, she needs to quit if she is pregnant. That is HK.

I’m curious about whether she took the job offer finally. I don’t think the boss can force her to resign when she gets pregnant under the protection of sex discrimination ordinance.

@Human-xe1h that was agreed at the interview, if not then next one. Well the woman can still stays at work, if she is pregnant, however, boss can make she cry, by finding some shit jobs for her. My friend's wife did not want such a job at the end. They can get a middle age woman.

Raising children is not only a matter of money, but also an investment of emotion and love. Many young people don’t even know how to love themselves. Not having children is a wise choice.

This is exact situation in NZ. I am in NZ, we have a profession called MUM, the Blacks, Maori FARM their kids for government benefits. They can sit on benefits for life. Free education, free medical, free prisons, free funerals, kids FREE of police charges....Why not.

@@nzworkhorse888 I understand exactly what you are saying. I lived in Australia for 9 years before coming to the United States. The same goes for Australia, the welfare state. Too bad for the burden on taxpayers.

Money cant buy happiness, but money can solve problems that make you unhappy, eg: loans, bills, debts, living cost of yourself and your parents, insurance, hospital bills, and all the unforeseeable accident cost. When a person has all those debt squeezing the life out of them, and the living cost that keeps on rising, pray tell how do you invest in emotion and love? It's impossible if you live in the cities.

@@acertainslime agreed with you, that's why I said " NOT ONLY a matter of money, but also”. Thank you for your views.

@@acertainslime one more answer to your question, If you ask how to invest in emotions and love without money, my answer is simple, like spending quality time with your children and having meaningful conversations with them. I call it a labor of love.
