The way these Phantoms are maintained they could fly another 10 years. I enjoyed working on the F4J Phantom II during my time in the US Navy, my all time favorite Navy fighter. The J-79 was fun to watch during night operations, loud and powerful. The Phantom II did everything it was asked to do!

I built a very large, detailed model of an F4 phantom when I was a kid. I was very privileged to get to work on these amazing birds when i grew up ! 1981- 1983 Spangdahlem Air force base Germany! Thankyou for the video!!!

WOW, another great video by our friend. Very beautyful. Nothing even close to your great work in the net. If I was the JASDF , I would have get you up in the air, instead of the RIO, for taking aerial footage and as a prize for your love to these beautyful Phantoms.

Wonderful! The combination of first class videography, perfect edits and masterful integration of a deeply contemplative soundtrack just brings these beautiful birds to life. Once again, a masterpiece! ❤️

I think that many years from now, when the F4 has long been retired and there are only a few static exhibits in museums, this footage will be considered to be some of the best surviving images of the aircraft in flight by historians and enthusiasts. Superb.

Spotting places are known by pilots: last chances on each end are close to either Ibaraki airport parking extension or small roads in dead end. Middle spot for touch down is closed access to base with Camellia ochard around (that hill where it's written JSDF are unconstitutional). And pilots are friendly to wave hands at peace towers shrine park too

Japanese work ethic is to constantly improve and respect the hardware.
Superb photography and presentation as usual. I was amused by one shot where the RIO appeared to be looking at the cameraman... and then in the very next shot the pilot looked over and even waved. And this was during a landing. Who would have thought that Japanese F-4 pilots would be hot dogs? :D

Yes, outstanding visuals!! And outstanding audio of these great planes. Today is August 6, 2020. On Aug 6, of 1971, on a Friday I left active duty from the US Navy @ The Naval base at Oceana, Virginia! I loved the speed, power, and whine of these babies. VF-102.

1-300 san, you have the best videography in the business. So vivid and best illustration about the flying veterans iron sky warriors. A robust roaring after burner is the best part of each take off and steep attacking angle sliding add some spice to what the veteran iron sky warriors capable to do. Hopefully, we may still be able to see the F4 roaring on your sky in few more years to come. Long live Phantoms!!

Thank you 1-300, more truly beautiful video of some of the world’s last operating Phantoms. These JASDF Phantoms are so well kept. And I would comment from the looks of things here, they are not just coasting into retirement, but still mixing it up in ACM training! A few of the views here including 6:57 show a Mitsubishi AAM-3 on the left pylon and what looks like a (Cubic?) ACMI pod on the right. You can also see there and in other views what may be an ALQ-131 ECM pod in the left front Sparrow position. I presume the AAM-3 is a dummy training version or otherwise non-launchable, that provides tone and related IR data to the cockpit and the ACMI pod, to aid in air combat simulation.

Ah! Another delightful video to wake up to. Girls just want to have sun. How appropriate a song selection, for that's where these old girls belong; flying in the sun. The love and care the maintainers give them is obvious in the fact that they appear to be almost brand new. They are a credit to their profession, as are the crews that fly them. Another fine bit of cinema. Arrigato.

I comment on every video and I just love watching. With the slower speed you can feel every movement, Feel every contact with the tarmac and feel the heat from the rear end. Lovely my friend. Just lovely
Agree with all...beautiful capture - real skill and dedication. Would love more tech stuff on these jets, ie what are the powerplants now and do they get better range than the old ones. That was their biggest flaw - great jet that couldn't go far. Crews were ever-mindful of their lack of range and the nearest base. Do these guys replenish in the air?
@johnfarrar67154 жыл бұрын
The J79's were pretty efficient at 90-100% Mil but those burners were gas hogs! When our pilots went up for training against the F-15's at Bitburg in the early 80's, we would pump over 1400 gallons of JP4 to fill er up after a 1 hour mission!
