Please look forward to L.O.L part 2 'cause it will be filled with heartbreak (which is actually his expertise in terms of lyrics despite being single majority of his life, if not his whole life). His heartbreaking lyrics are so far the best (especially since he's SO poetic) I've ever encountered in kpop. Thank you for appreciating hanbin and his music. He never disappoints.

The opposite of love is hate, but Binnie says his mom taught him not to hate so he named the album 'love or loved' (instead of hate, it signifies the stage where love is gone but not replaced with hate but rather the acknowledgement that the love no longer exists in the present). Binnie's empowerment of the woman in the relationship, in his lyrics are admirable from a very young age. His mom raised him well. Where other artists write about breakups blaming the woman, Binnie is all about self-reflection of where the man fails in a relationship. All his songs in iKon regarding breakup (the famous 3 being Love Scenario, Good Bye Road, Apology) have lyrics that showcase this side of him so well. Even Killing Me and I'm Ok lyrics are about the man in the relationship lacking. He has acknowledged that he lacks in actually experiencing what he writes about. He is a self-proclaimed nihilist with fatalistic traits after all. He is like a wizened old soul in a young body. Instead his inspirations come from books and films. Love Scenario was inspired by La La Land where the lovers separate with a nod to their shared love. Tangerine is inspired by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Love or Loved part 1 celebrates the giddiness of love. Part 2 will be about heartache and sadness of love in the past tense. Binnie's work started from the "Win Who is Next" days (a survival show on TV to debut in an idol group) where he composed "Climax," "Sinosijak" and other songs which draw from his experiences in these shows. He wrote 'Empty' when his team lost. YG took that song written during his depths of despair while still in his teens, modified the lyrics to a love song and gave it to the winning team as their debut song. It achieved rookie song of the year for the other group. Since you are getting to know him, start from the survival show content to see the incredible selflessness he demonstrated from such a young age, trying to debut in an idol group in a ruthless industry. His fans that stayed with him when he left iKon are the coolest fandom I have seen in kpop. They trended him every day on twitter when he was on hiatus, bought him musical equipment (the swarovski encrusted mike he uses is a gift from his fandom), challenged YG, his previous company to credit songs that were his and continue to defend him from online haters. I am not sure who i love more Binnie or IDs. I think i am partial to the IDs a little bit more :)

Hanbin is the songwriter who can write the dreamiest and romantic lyrics with the purest beat, and can write the hardest and realist rap with a dope beat🔥

Just wanna give you information. Hanbin really good at writing heart breaking song, his lyrics are so painful but sometimes he put happy melody so prepare your self for L.o.L part two. Anyway i'm really enjoying your reaction for this. Hanbin's musii always amazing and as his fans i feel happy when more people can enjoy and appreciate his song and talent. He seemed to be really emphasizing being young with the cowboy hat and large specs. Innocence and first love and all the feelings that you experience when your young. I looked up BI’s age and he is still young at 26yrs old. So much talent and wisdom he has already experienced for one so young! He’s amazingly poetic and romantic, far beyond his years!

tangerine is inspired by a movie "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" the girl main character has a tangerine hair as he described, hanbin always write a songs inspired by a movie like love scenario - la la land (if i'm not mistaken) also he never dated before but he can write a romantic love song with a beautiful lyrics💗

Ahh i honestly thought your next B.I reaction would be the Waterfall stuff because you loved that so much in the Killing Verse! Super happy you checked out this album though, some great songs! Love or Loved has part 1 and 2. He released the 1st part which is the Love one which is the good parts of love. Part 2 is the Loved one which is the heartbreak part. It is love or loved because for him the opposite of love is not hate but loved

You have to understand, he wrote about love because he lost a huge chunk of his youth being in the k-pop training program and life and then being abandoned by the management company when he needed them most. He wrote about love because he imagined that's what he had to give up to be in the industry. The first song in the Killing Verse video you reacted to called Be.I was his first song as a solo artist and a bit of a FU to the management company. The guy is a genius.
