I'm dedicated to mastering these "Evil Twin" Waza, Kashiwazaki is such a great Sensei even with very limited Japanese I understand the details he's pointing out.

Hikikomi kaeshi. It´s a Ma Sutemi Waza along Tomoe nage, sumi gaeshi, ura nage and tawara Kaeshi.

This is hikkomi gaeshi, not obi tori gaeshi.

+J. NOT REALLY. IN HIKKOMI GAESHI YOU DON'T GRAB THE OBI. ALL MA SUTEMIWAZA MAY LOOK SIMILAR, BUT THEY HAVE DIFFERENCES.
@libertarian_ramblings8 жыл бұрын
Wrong. Look it up. ... Or simply LISTEN TO WHAT KASHIWAZAKI SENSEI IS SAYING.

+J. HE'S NOT CALLING IT HIKKOMI GAESHI, BUT THAT BELONGS TO IT. THE WORDS OBI+ TORI+GAESHI, MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU? THESE WILL HELP YOU: judopedia.com/index.php/Obi-tori-gaeshi

As for the video clip you gave me, A. Yes, _that_ is obi tori gaeshi. If you look carefully you will see that it is not the same throw as Kashiwazaki is using here. B. As the narrator explains, obi tori gaeshi is *te waza* NOT sutemi waza, unlike hikkomi gaeshi. C. Also, if you watch the whole film from which that clip is taken, you will see that hikkomi gaeshi is itself explained in a different section of the film (the sutemi waza part). -------- THIS is what Kashiwazaki is doing: /watch?v=TyzjZ8YZ4tU And here: /watch?v=YgOCElhRR7c --------- _"HE'S NOT CALLING IT HIKKOMI GAESHI, BUT THAT BELONGS TO IT"_ He is simply introducing the throw. He repeatedly refers to it as 'hikkomi gaeshi' and does not refer to "obi tori gaeshi" at ANY POINT. _"THE WORDS OBI+ TORI+GAESHI, MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU?"_ 'Obi tori' means 'taking the belt', but that could describe lots of different throws, so it is moot. The fact of the matter is that 'obi tori gaeshi' is the name of the te waza in the clip you gave me, but not the name of the sutemi waza being performed here by Kashiwazaki Sensei.

OBI TORI GAESHI USED IN HIKKOMI GAESHI. DO NOT READ THE TROLLS COMMENTS.
