@MovieMakingMan No we didn’t become an “item.” I didn’t have those feelings for him, we were just friends. Yes, it was very ingenious of him. It was my very 1st date. The thing I remember most is riding in the taxi. Ha! 😁 My 2nd time to take one was at age 19, in Dallas, TX; when I interviewed to be a flight attendant. Thank you for asking, you’re very kind. 😀

Another masterpiece by Bacharach/David and the right singer to sing it. BJ Thomas had some hits before this, but what he does with this song is simply magical. I loved this song as a youngster and I still love listening it today more than 50 years after its release. Thanks for the great music and memories, BJ Thomas, Burt Bacharach and Hal David...

"Crying's not for me, 'cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining" ...that´s one of my life mottos, and I mean it. Also, "So I just did me some talking to the sun, and I said I didn't like the way he got things done, sleeping on the job", is such a mood, and I find it as one of the most hilarious lyrics ever, and I don´t even know why, it´s just a feeling :) I love this song very much, and with B.J.Thomas´s voice, it´s perfect.

That's funny, wherever he goes, the cloud goes with him! I remember this song so well, I was three or so when it came out and in the mall of the apartment building I lived in they would play this song on the sound system. This one and 'Up, Up and Away, in My Beautiful Balloon', which came out contemporaneously. I also remember, 'Those Were the Days, My Friend", for similar reasons. It's funny the things one remembers from one's youth.
