Axis Anchoring Clamps for Insulated Neutral Messenger System consists of a body, self-adjusting captive wedges, and flexible bail. The components are manufactured to exceed the NFC 33-041 and international standards. They are designed with high strength cast aluminum alloy and engineering plastic for corrosion, UV, and weather resistance.
This product is used along with a bracket or other supporting hardware and is used to strain the insulated neutral messenger and also to provide angles without damaging the cable's insulation.
The clamp and bracket are available separately or factory-assembled.
The anchoring Clamp Assembly consists of -
1. Clamp body
2. Steel Bail
3. Bracket
The accessories required to mount this assembly on a pole are as follows -
1. Straps and buckles
2. Bolts and nuts
The tools required during the installation are as follows -
1. Strap-binding tool
2. Hammer
3. Phase Separator
The procedure of mounting the anchoring clamp on a pole using strapping -
Installing the bracket -
Note - This bracket can also be bolted.
1. Take two straps of suitable length. Pass the open ends through the buckle.
2. Locate the bracket on the pole and wrap the strap around.
3. Locate the other open end and insert it into the strap-binding tool and lock.
4. Rotate the handle of the strap-binding tool to tighten the strap. Cut the additional strap using the edge.
5. Hammer to bend the straight flanges of the buckle.
6. Fix the second strap using a similar method.
Installing the Anchoring Clamp into the bracket -
Note - One end of the steel bail is supplied in one condition for easy assembly at sight.
1. Insert the open end of the steel bail into the gap of the body.
2. Twist the bail to adjust the cut slot on the rivet to match parallel with the rib of the body for each insertion.
Procedure to place a cable -
1. Identify the neutral messenger cable and separate it from other phase cables using a phase separator.
2. Slide the captive wedges on the clamp body to the top for a sufficient gap for the cable to pass through.
3. Place the neutral messenger cable between the plastic wedge of the clamp body.
4. Once located slide the wedge down concerning the body till it grips the messenger cable.
5. Recheck that the cable does not slide from the clamp.
One or two clamps can be installed on a single bracket depending on the application, dead-ending or large angle assembly.
