She's performed this song with new arrangements several times in the past few years at different concerts. In most cases, it seems that she opted to take a much more evidently dramatic approach to the performance. Specifically, she takes long phrases between the phrases, at times she would start the beginning of a phrase at a slower speed only to build toward a greater intensity toward its close. The musical accompaniment also tends toward a much more dramatic flare. This approach to the song can't work very well for its official recorded version though. It would be much too excessive and theatrical to the extent that one might not want to listen to it repeatedly. While I understand her reservations and agree that what the producers did was unethical, I prefer the official version. To me, it is more understated and seems to exude the perspective of one who has accepted what's happening and is introspective about life, rather than one where the singer is still very much grappling with a state of intensity and conflict.

Very reasonable.

Yes concert version should be different. The thing is if she didn't feel the song was good enough they should not use the opportunity to "steal" her voice for the project just because she couldn't afford to sue them. As a friend or a good producer, it is unethical. He got a song out of her but he lost a friend by doing so.

I don’t know 😅 For me (Foreigner),I think her version in concert has smoothen . I like 👍🏻
That's not the point. The point is, she didn't want the song to be released. He didn't care because he knew she was too "poor" to sue him. That is unethical.
