Beautiful piece, well played. This Recorder Sonata Op. 2/5 appears, published in 1732 in London, as the number 12 of "XII Solos for German Flute or Violin (...)Opera Primo".

Wow. Thanks for the information and the compliments. In fact, the sonata is really beautiful, like all the ones in Opus XII ;)

Thank you ! I love especially the slow mvts! Benedetto Marcello defined himself a 'dilettante'. But is was really a Prince of the music ;)

Grazie Stefano! Sei davvero gentilissimo.

i got the same piece of music thanks to you. know i find it a bit difficult to read the old style and i do not understand one bit. what does the w means at the end of every line. it is placed in a different position an i do not really understand its meaning. thanks. by the way very good. these pieces are great. thanks for the link...

Thanks. Indeed, the first mvt is a bit sad ;-) This sonata, as almost all the others of Opus 2, is in church form (slow-fast-slow-fast), a typical baroque form, opposed to the chamber (fast-slow-fast). Now, looking at the video, i see that i play the slow mvts in the dark! An inconscious choice ? ;-))

Well! The original prints are a bit difficult at the start, but it is only a matter of habit. Still have a great charm and, above all, allow you to play more faithful to the intentions of the composer; all is easier than it looks. Thus, the w at the end of each line indicate simply .. the end of the line! The inverted L are the quarter rests .... With regard to midi files, I made them by myself. I'll write on your channel.

and also some other symbols maybe i am a bit silly but the modern version are a lot easier to understand. i do not understand some other symbols like that inverted L symbol (i believe is a very short note) but still not sure. i really like these pieces but i trully have a problem reading them, still there are older pieces written in an even older way that i sort of gave up because is just to difficult and i mean to read not to play..
