While I respect Prophet Nasiri he should not let his political bias against Asiwaju reflect his celestial calling. Tinubu was one of the staunchest supporters of MKO. At the time of the 1993 election, the two parties in existence were the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the National Republican Convention (NRC). Tinubu was not yet a governor then. He was a Senator. It was the cancellation of that election that led to the political crisis that later brought about the swearing of a new democratic government on May 29, 1999. It was in this new dispensation that Tinubu became governor under the Alliance for Democracy party (AD). So in a way, it was the election of June 12 1993 which was annulled by Babangida, and the attendant political crisis that gave birth to May 29, 1999. So if June 12 is symbolically recognized as a democratic day midwives' May 29, there is nothing bad in that more so that there is link.
