one of the best songs of the new wave era - in the top three with the chameleons 'swamp thing', and the smiths 'how soon is now'. i remember hearing this played on cfny out of toronto on the fm radio at radio shack - and it blew my mind - along with new order, 'blue monday' - changed my world. cfny opened up the spirit of radio. 🖤 ✨ 🎶

Live 105 in the Bay Area used to play this and I would blast it in my car. Love this version of Nowhere Girl. I had LP of this and regretting giving it to my nephew including the record player.

I vividly remember driving west on Mulholland towards the 405 listening to KROQ when this song started playing. It grabbed me from the start. I pulled over just past Benedict Canyon and listened, and I felt the 80's for the first time. Sure, in 1978 I heard a whisper of what was to come when I first heard "Just What I Needed" by the Cars" but that was just a whisper. For me, "Nowhere Girl" was the harbinger of all that came afterwards - Solid Rock, Sweet Dreams, Let's Go to Bed, Mad World, Domino Dancing, Driven Out - all of it. Nowhere Girl showed the way.
