I have been comparing the revolve vs B&O p2. Bose wins that one. As it should it's bigger. You have the p2 does yours shut off on its own while it's playing? I am having to keep keep hitting play.

Hi Tony, my second A1just got cracked noise when hearing bass sound, like my 1st A1. This can't be fixed right? My 3rd A1 is still OK, and I never set more than 22/32 volume steps.

Check the unit is properly sealed - feel for air leaking through the screw holes and it is secure to the base of the unit. If you feel air leaks, tighten (not TOO much or it will strip) or even put tape over the screw holes. Any air leaks from the enclose with ruin the sound, esp deep base.

good video. how's the sound compared to clip 2? I have A1 & clip 2 ofcoz A1 sounds much better but clip 2 not too bad either plus its waterproof & smaller so I carry it when I travel. Since you have clip 2 you should include sound test between clip2 & P2.

new speaker yeah! I think it sounds good! clean, punchy mids for presence and clear highs without being over boosted. But the entire video I was *Hoping* you'd do a low level test but you never did hahah I'm really curious how bass sounds on low levels, does it get boosted and deeper?
@speakertoni2680

Alexandru Simonescu finally someone who honers the effort to make such a little speaker sound that good. Yes, it boosts bass for low levels and sounds pretty good at those volumes. So it's definitely a xiaomi mi killer:)
@trei2unu
@trei2unu 7 жыл бұрын
Well you can't ask too much from such a small form factor. If it has enough bass at low levels and sounds clean and crisp at medium to high levels I think it's good enough. Can't wait for a comparison video with the Xiaomi, Envaya mini and others at low/normal volumes.

Hi, you really seems to know your stuff, may I ask you some advice?... In your opinion what is the best portable Bluetooth speaker in the 100-160€ range that is also somewhat water resistant?
@speakertoni2680
@speakertoni2680 7 жыл бұрын
HAL NOVEMILA there are many good ones like the B&O A1, the JBL Flip 4 or the Sony Xb30. B&O A1: It is my personal favorite because it simply sounds so much bigger than it actually is. Also treble has a great resolution and bass reaches down to 45hz which is very impressive. It also sounds the most mature and serious here. Sadly it lacks on battery life but it's splashproof. JBL Flip 4: It is the cheapest one of them but still gives you a nice package for the price. Obviously it can't keep up with the others at higher volumes but it's fully waterproof and has the best battery. Sony Xb30: I already tested that one and I returned it after some days because I simply didn't like the sound character which always is a bit hollow and cheap sounding. But it's actually one of the best on this class. Right out of the box you get close to no treble (because Sony messed up their tuning) but if you go to the Songpal app by Sony you can permanently boost treble. If you do this it sounds pretty nice and also very full boded at low volumes. Still, I don't like it that much because although it is loud it has some strange processing going on at max and you also have to take away bass for low levels as it boosts bass too much so it would sound very boomy with out a bit of bass reduction from the app. That's simply a killer for me because a speaker shouldn't require several EQ tweaks to sound satisfying. Battery life is good but you can't charge it while listening to music which is typical Sony again. I hope this was helpful:)

Not bad. Treble OK, mids really good, but the upper-bass boost gives the speaker a slightly boxy sound. Overall it's better than the Mi, but enough to justify the huge price difference? The Mi, everything considered, remains amazing.

@speakertoni2680 7 жыл бұрын
Prof Prof I'd say that 120-140$ would've been a better price tag. If it was sold for 130$ I'd say that it's worth the money over the mi also considering the new shake and tap features.

Why you did not test it against JBL Clip 2 when you have one? I know there is not much space for war between these two, because of the price, but many people own Clip 2(me too) and it would be interesting for us to hear the real sound difference between these two, especially when I think Clip 2 is not the best speaker in that category, but is very popular, because it's JBL obviously :D
@speakertoni2680

I think overall the b&o is a very nice speaker and has some great features...but I don't it can compete with competition at this price...maybe half the price would be a lot more reasonable
@speakertoni2680
@speakertoni2680 7 жыл бұрын
Jakob Sorotos indeed the price is a bit steep but on normal volumes it can really keep up with some of the competition. With jazz music for example it beats the Wonderboom by a lot and even sounds as nice as a flip 4 of course without the real deep bass.

25:23 - It's not a distortion - it is the b&o signature sound! Such a well made, high end, very expensive product simply does not have any issues ^^ clavinetjunkie showed us this "b&o bass enhancement" on his review of the $1000 Beoplay A6. B&O does not sell medium products with flaws for high money, nooo, they sell lifestlye and good feelings ^^.
@speakertoni2680
@speakertoni2680 7 жыл бұрын
airwolf1337 no no, Iam sure it is not the adaptive b&o bass enhancement system. It is a different kind of distortion. There is a bass peak at about 100hz which causes this distortion just like with the Ue Wonderboom. Today they released an update but nothing was fixed, we can only hope that there'll be another update for this.

I now have two A2's for stereo set up and they sound amazing . The set up pushes vocals forward like on the Oslo . There is so much detail . I had two S3's for pairing and they were okay but .....the A2's together blow the S3's out of the water . The sound is clear , detailed and exciting . Even the Sales guy on the Bang Olufsun show room was blown away how good the A2's sounded together . The only downer is battery life takes a hit !
@F4Jensen
@F4Jensen 7 жыл бұрын
The A2 had similar distortion when it came out of the box. It was really annoying when playing bass heavy tracks and it was some sort of pre-amp/DSP distortion and not the drivers. Luckily, It was fixed in a firmware update! I was so surprised that it was even possible to update the speaker.

JBOsurf why?
@JBOsurf
@JBOsurf 6 жыл бұрын
Speaker Toni because A) rock is awesome and B) highly produced pop makes speakers sound better than they really are. Play some dirty complex rock and see how these speakers handle it. This is why when you go to listen to some speakers in store they are locked down on display units in demo mode and you can only listen to three or four songs the manufacturer has selected to make he speakers sound as good as possible. If a speaker can’t handle rock, it’s garbage. A great speaker can handle anything you throw at it.
@speakertoni2680
@speakertoni2680 6 жыл бұрын
JBOsurf A) that’s very subjective B) I agree with the fact that a speaker should sound great with everything but “dirty” recorded rock maybe isn’t the right way to see if a speaker stays clean...
