Thanks for another great review! I love my Beolit 20, it has been my companion all summer for music in the garden. Highly recommended.

Chi Charging- Where everyone is getting it wrong is the how we approach it in our heads that it will empty the battery of your speaker.- now look at the charger from a different perspective - your speaker is connected to the wall plug- and you drop your phone on top of the speaker - and now every ones happy - do you see the distinction? the Chi Charger is not to be used without the power source - and If I am playing it outside - I have my portable power bank connected to the speaker, now what ever power my phone is dropping in using the wifi and bluetooth to play the music - it is replenishing it via the Chi charger from the speaker - and the speaker is giving me long hours of listing pleasure without ever worrying about its battery life- buy a good battery pack - change the way use this speaker - ever so slightly and you will enjoy it a whole lot more and complain less. I have it next to my bed side and at night I drop my phone on top the speaker and in the morning its fully charged - and speaker is constantly connected to the wall plug -- and I have a separate speaker (beolit 17) which is allowed to move around.

That's what I explained though and my wish was that the battery was just larger for the other purposes. I literally said it's great it you put a beolit 20 on a nightstand and have it lugged in like that :p We're on the same wave length ;)

Yes! I bought a Anker PowerCore+ 26800mAh PD 45W with 60W PD Charger and that gives you power to play music all day long at high volume!
@rickys41953 жыл бұрын
@@CraigIvor I get your point, with the amount of space available inside the speaker - they could have fitted in the whole power brick inside and it would run for a week at max volume- but there are a million design decisions to be considered while designing a product - I guess they must have thought about it. Also- batteries are also a fire risk- bigger the number bigger the risk. and what will it do to the weight of the product- so, I guess they kept it open - there's enough juice inside - if you want more - plug one in at the USB port - I am happy with that decision.

Are there any differences in the sound between Beolit17 vs. Beolit 20? Thanks
@Mikipedia7 ай бұрын
A tiny bit because the grill is different, not because the drivers or any such thing is different.

I still have a Beolit 15 that I really like in terms of sound. Isn’t it possible by the way to turn off chi charging on the 20 though? I thought there was an option in the app so you can choose not to use it.
@Mikipedia3 жыл бұрын
Iam pretty sure it is, it went back to my dealer unfortunately :p But even so, it only makes sense if it's plugged in to the wall all the time, which kind of defeats the purpose of a portable speaker lol
@csaba54153 жыл бұрын
@@CraigIvor I think it makes sense to have the Q charger. That space was always meant for storage. Pens, mobile, anything really. Even disrespectful used handkerchieves (girlfriend). In a scenario where you are outside with your Beolit still going strong and your mobile soon to die, being saved by the Beolit is smart. Especially since you can turn it off. The only thing I hate about my old Beolit 15 is that it has got a huge door for storing its own charging cable. But in terms of design I’d still go with the 17 if I were in the market for a Beolit. I don’t find the orange hue on the silver Beolit 20 attractive, or the other color option. After so many years I’m also a little bored with the design, where the punched grill was used in a lot of other products such as the A1, A2, P6, M3… Nevertheless today it is still a unique offering in the current portfolio. So I’d still dearly recommend it to anyone, it’s a great speaker!

Great vid! I went for the Beolit in the end, wanted something that sounded great for multiple genres. Really happy with it, however, I used the 3.5mm jack and it sounded awful (sounded very tinny), not sure if it's a fault or that's how it should sound. Have you tried using it? Wanted to get some second thoughts. Cheers!

I'm assuming English isn't your first language? Despite this, just to let you know your English is excellent. Not trying to patronise. A genuine observation.

I am really trying to decide between this and the Sonus Five at the moment. What I'm looking for is high quality streaming quality in the short term and the ability to hook a turntable to it in the future.

@@Mikipedia Gotcha. Our house is small enough that I'm not even sure I'd need a network of speakers. My first priority is sound quality.
@Mikipedia Жыл бұрын
@@InfectiousGroovePodcast My personal preference would the Beolit, but a lot of this is personal preference. I don't have much experience with the sonos 5, it sounds ok. Imho better quality of sound doesn't always equal more enjoyment, therefor I would say to try both yourself. You can't go wrong with the beolit, but it's more important that you like it than that I agree with your decision in the end :p

hello can you play on a beolit 20 AND on an a1 second generation from an ios device? the charger is good when connected to an outlet.

I don't think an IOS device can play Bluetooth audio to two devices at the same time can it? I have to look that up but I think the limitation is on the IOS side.

According to B&O FAQ on the Beolit 20 should not be plugged in all the time at Li batteries have the longest lifespan when they are at around 70% SOC. Having the battery allways at 100% is not good in this case.

Hello do you know if the Bluetooth can be turned off or is it always on? Also does the EQ app rely on Bluetooth or can it work through an aux cable? Kind regards
@Mikipedia2 жыл бұрын
Not sure as I don't have one here anymore. but to control it through the app BT needs to be one as that's how you connect the app to the beolit. not sure if it needs to be on if you don't intend to change the sound profile.

It will pair with a Beolit 17, it will probably sound better than a level, but that's also partially preference. Personally I think one beolit 17/20 sounds better than an Emerge already, so that's imho not really a comparison.
