liquiescimus is latin for, like… the process of melting, which is obviously referencing Antarc… whose annihilation is a major part of Phos’ destruction… Part of why this arrangement works so well in conjunction with the image is that this song, lit. “we are melting,” is both a callback to phos’ reason for becoming like this as well as being a good descriptor of how phos is falling apart and losing structure

I love how the music gives a totally different feeling from the original while being a sort of continuation of the first one, the first one is contemplative and melancholic while this version gives a sort of calm and overwhelming impression but is still emplished by the past melancholy which became pure sadness and despair, and with the image it really gives that vibe of an old and powerful demon emplished with regret who just sits here and talk about philosophy and how your actions and the means you use to act can make you lose everything and how cruel this world is.

This gives me a kinda intro vibe to a currently occurring crisis, inviting you into the new story as a last hope. Sounds a little similar to FE Dragon's Gate II, and I love this so much, I really hope Phos gets it better... Poor gem was hurt and battered and abused so bad, making them crush everyone, at the end they wanted to piece together Kongo, and probably everyone else, only to see the Lunarians take them and the gems away, as Phos slumps down and recollects the memory of their master... the poor gem doesn't deserve 10,000 years of solitude, and I don't want her to go repeat Kongo's actions either, just give. Phos. LOVEEEEEeeeeee.... .,_,.

Probably that in 10 000 years gems will be born, so Phos will need to help them, but he will probably transmit to them a much more understanding and personal education than Kongo, helping them when they have mental problems, he will eventually have allies with different personalities than the previous gems and the relationship between him and them won't be the same they had with Kongo, because Phos is just someone who just want happiness and I would totally imagine him going from his actual broken state to a much wiser and loving one by protecting and taking care of these childs, and because in the end he would not even care for the others and the Lunarians they would have to menace his happiness, but when they would do that he would fight a lot more desperately than Kongo for it and he would probably even kill some of the original gems.

SPOILER W/ QUESTION & DISCUSSION: In that one scene before Phos goes to sensei after beating Cinnabar, do y'all think Phos is not Phos anymore because they can't recognize their original form, or are they still Phos but just forgot what their form looks over time? I mean, it has been 300+ years already since Phos was in their original form, and don't the Gems forget about stuff, too, over time?

Really hurts thinking about that. For me, I’ve always seen the part where Phos has their head replaced as the line between the original phos and the new phos. As Rutile mentioned, less than half of their body still remains Phosphophyllite. Plus the alloy pushes out pieces of them slowly overtime, so who knows how much is actually left of them. Aaa only if they could just be happy :’)

I've wondered if Phos' original arms will eventually return in some way, original memories intact. Maybe another Phosphophyllite could be born (maybe it's possible from the lost parts). The way Padparadscha's body worked made me curious about their inclusions :-P Phos' apparently have a lot of potential, so who knows?

@@ib_satz yeah, in the manga they (Lunarians) found a way to reclaim the Gems' memories and somewhat "reinstall" the memories to their respective owners. Definitely a possibility, although I don't know really what Ichikawa would do next...

@@ib_satz Barbata mentioned that the ice floes took Phos' arms as a bargaining chip, so they are most likely retrievable. As for their head, it should be able to be restored like the other Gems and it's possible that some remains of their old legs could be found also, also this is less likely as it has been 322 years. I wonder if they would be able to restore the original Phos with only the head and arms (and possibly some parts of the legs)
