Very forward-looking for something written in the 1870s, the Cadenza in the first movement is especially interesting almost like a post-Romantic Liszitian cadenza.

Gyasanrin (1900 - 1965) was a North Caucasian composer. a laureate of two Stalin Prizes (1949, 1951). He is from Dagestan, now Russian Federation.
