Strangely, I get harder hitting bass - with no less texture - on this exact song from my combo of Marantz PM-11S2 and Dynaudio Evoke 10 with Dynaudio 9S subwoofer. That is probably largely due to the HDAMS modules in the Marantz amp. After getting used to that, most other system's bass sounds unlistenable to me.

Personally, I prefer the warm sound of Sonus Faber, as you made us discover through your videos. I can now appreciate it at home, no matter the kind of music, Chris Rea, John Coltrane or Marcus Miller.

I dunno, the silver is just a bit too strong. If the top cover under the microphone was walnut, this speaker would be a completely different speaker. The Wharfedale Elysian 4 is an example of how this speaker should be dressed.

Any chance these speakers would be used in a different setting? Something just seems "off" with the videos of these 804D4s. The videos you've uploaded with the bigger B&W speakers and Sonus Faber Homage Tradition in the room with the giant dual clocks in the background sound completely different, free of echo, and just overall cleaner presentation.

The room sounds a bit too “lively” with these speakers for my ears. Sometimes the room reverb sounds nice and gives a “live” sound, but this vid was a bit too much. I assume the room has treatment? It’s hard to see. Cheers. Rich.

IF you truly were a "Sound Sommelier" you'd get a better microphone to record these videos. Even just a Yeti mic would make such a difference. This sounds tinny/scratchy with too much reverb.
