Thanks again. Your video really helps me a lot on speaking and writing. Let's see how many days I can last and jump to next level. Today, I hope to share about the most important Festival in America and China. I suppose almost everybody knows that Christmas is the most important Festival in the US, but in China, Chinese New Year is the biggest one. The actual day of Christmas is the 25th of December, but most people celebrate from the night of 24th and continue to 25. This is an excuse to celebrate the festival for 2 days. People will visit the relatives of their father on 24th and then spend the 25th with the relative of their mothers. This is fairly common in China, because we have both sides of relatives who needs to accompany. While, holiday in China is 7 days, but people usually rearrange their working time and have 15 days for the New Year, of course, they need to work harder in front of and after the New Year. The second part is the ways to open the present. American enjoy to open the present in front of others, but this is opposite in China, we like to open the present in private. That is a big difference. Once, I was invited to a Christmas party, people sat in a circle, when somebody get a gift, others will shout and let that person open the gift immediately. After he opened the gift, everybody will shout loudly and celebrate it. It is really difficult to see in China. The third part is food. This part is almost the same, because people will make lots of food to celebrate both Christmas and Chinese New Year. The difference is the number of dishes, in Christmas, it is almost four or five dishes, like turkey, salad and etc. But in China, the number at least should be six or eight, and most families will make 12, 16 or 18, because these numbers means lucky. And of course, we cannot finish eating all of food, but this is a tradition. We have lots of delicious food, nevertheless to say other yummy dessert or drinks. The final part is about the activities. This is a visible elements of these two festivals. In Christmas, people enjoy to decorate their house and yard with lots of lights. People from all over the city will come and just to see the decoration. Some houses are decorated most impressive and creative. People will talk about the decoration together. In China, we have the firework. That is extremely huge and almost all the people will come out of their house and enjoy and join the firework. Okay, that’s it. Hope it will give you more information about these two countries and welcome to Chinese New Year and feel by yourself.

I have good memories about Christmas. Ten year ago my whole family met in my house to celebrate this amazing date. In this day, my family were spending the whole day planing and cooking to have dinner. Meanwhile me and my cousins were playing a lot. We usually had dinner at 12 followed by conversations about ourselves, our family, and various topics. However for the past of 4 years ago my family moved to a new city, so now we celebrate christmas with my mom and siblings. Times have changed but I remember this stage of my life with so much emotion.

Many Orthodox churches (Russian, part of Greek, etc.) celebrate Christmas according to the Julian calendar, that is, from January 6 to 7 according to the Gregorian (generally accepted civil) calendar. Because of this discrepancy in dates, a curious thing happened about a hundred years ago. In January 1914, Henry Ford fired 900 Russian guest workers from his factory because they did not show up for work on January 7, celebrating Christmas according to the Julian calendar.

The thing that Christmas is not a "Tradition" . it is a religional activity so it is similar like Ramadan as well. So as it is normal people are not celebrating Ramadan Bajram in USA, we don't celebrate Christmas though. In Türkiye, people celebrate new year, that can be a tradition. But it is not weird not to celebrate Christmas as Turkish citizen because this is not our religional activity.

In this time of the church is gorgeous, every corner of the church also decorate by Christmas lights, stone cave, Santa Claus... Besides, they also organize singing and dancing, i'd like Christmas' atmosphere. In 25th, I can have a meal with my friend. This is the time for me to gather my family b/c I live far away my home..
