Track from NFL 118 All Systems Go, by Sam Spence. Clips document Dan Pastorini's ill fated days with the LA Rams, in which he had 2 TD passes (shown here) against 14 INT.

One of the great '80's NFL Music tunes.I attended the Rams at Bengals gane shown here fro November 1981.I remember the Louis Breeden interception of Pastorini shown here. Good edit Bomber!

Thank you. Yes, I agree about this track- it's a remake by Spence of a song by another group; the song title is escaping my memory at the moment. I had forgotten about Pastorini's stint at LA, California was unkind to him and his career. The Bengals had a great team that year- and may have won the Super Bowl if not for that goal line stand against Pete Johnson.

Gordon Giltrap's "Headwind/The Eagle" and "High Tension" Great sounds great melodies. I love all these versions.

@@b17bomber “California was unkind to him and his career” - while that may have been true for him as a starting QB, Dan Pastorini did earn his only Super Bowl ring as a backup to Jim Plunkett in Super Bowl XV with the Oakland Raiders.

You can definitely tell it’s the eighties by the huge shoulder pads. And Dante throwing all those INT’s.

Pastorini was tough, the Steelers pretty much beat him to death for almost a decade. Even on the rare occasions where the Oilers beat the Steelers with Dan he's still took a beating.

Dan was one of the most abused quarterbacks in NFL history. He also had one of the prettiest deep throws in the game.

@@b17bomber yep. And he took them to AFC Title game where people in Texas were overconfident about the fact they were going to beat Pittsburgh and then have an all Texas Superbowl. Crash went the hash as 17 points in the last 1:29 of half one went from 14-3 to 31-3.

Does anyone know if this track was used in the Super Bowl 16 Highlight film between the 49ers against the Bengals? There's a track towards the end of the film that sounds very close to this version but I can't be certain? I would greatly appreciate if someone out there can confirm if this was used in the Super Bowl 16 highlights or not? And a special thanks goes out to b17bomber for posting this terrific piece.

This knockoff was based on a song from the KPM music library called “High Tension” by Gordon Giltrap. That’s the song you’re thinking of.
