Any ISO rated watch is going to have at least 4,800 A/m. Molybdenum is a common alloying element in stainless and it’s not what gives the anti magnetic properties, that comes from the ferrous portion making up the majority of the alloy. Edit: I read the blurb on exquisite, they say the case is anti magnetic not that the watch is. It means the case can’t get magnetized but it won’t offer any protection to the movement.

I'd buy this watch in a heartbeat if it was just a few mm smaller in all dimensions. It's the most masculine watch in existence, especially the traditional version on bracelet.

Awesome watch. I've been admiring ZRC for years from afar. I think I'd go for the 1964 French Navy Reissue with the blue dial & strap if I got one. A ZRC would slot in nicely next to your Ollech & Wajs as another esoteric, unique piece in your collection, Rob. You should go for it! Great video, thanks for sharing!

As you already know, I have a ZRC. Mine is blue and I love it. I like watches that are a bit different. My quartz beater is an APH Toscano. It is a compressor with one crown at 12 and the other at 6. I also have a Panerai 459. Check out Anonimo. I have the Militare and the crown is at 12. The owners used to work for Panerai. If anyone can recommend something unique and solar or a good bullhead, I am all ears.

Ultimate Bullhead, to me is the Citizen Tsuno Racer in blue. That's a stunning blue EcoDrive dial with a ton of complications and a huge case but it still is wearable and very legible.

Grand fonds means deep sea In french (big depth literally) always liked this name for a diver and this design is so recognisable. The triton subphotique use a similar crown system but at 12 not 6 but i find the design less innovative and interesting.

Agreed. Watches are just watches, so paying ridiculous amounts or even more than £500 seems nuts for ANY watch. People seem to think it's ok, mostly because it's been 'acceptable' for so long to the point where people think they're getting a good deal. Seiko are a typical example of companies over charging for just average rather poor spec'd watches. You want the perfect watch? you're better off building it yourself, custom parts are very readily available and are much better value.

I believe these came out several years ago.. I want to say about 5 years or so. And, I believe it was a brand revival. Might have been a crowd funded project at first. Glad to see it's still around and expanded to many variants. Not as funky, but I really like the Triton Subphotique. Has that unicorn crown thing as the crown is up by the 12 instead. Really nice French diver. Another revived brand with some serious history. Also, used by the Marine Nationale at some point way back. They were actually more expensive than Rolex back when they started. They are rather pricey these days the modern versions. And, a little hard to buy... Not many places sell them and most seem to be in Europe. But, I'd like to get one some day. Anyways, will be interested to see which ZRC you ultimately pick up.

It would be nice to see this model use other older designs using number fonts on bezel instead of nothing but dots which makes it a little bit hard to decipher.

Love the bezel design with the triple dot pip and the ecs is kinda cool too. Love the case shape and the bevelling is very nice. Not a big fan of the crown position, the hands a bit too fat, the logo to close to the center. Definitely a weirdo this one. Overall a no for me because of the crown position but still a very interesting watch. And as always great review 👍

Thanks for the review. Nice colour, unqiue designs of crown/lug/ECS, good broad handsets, but at this price, no way. Cannot accept that the movement used depends on supply. Cannot accept SW200. As a diver, why aren't the numbers on dial lumed but the dots? Why aren't the bezel numbered but with the silly looking lumed dots? Gimmicky enough though.

I love the look of this watch but am unsure about its fit and comfort. The bracelet clasp looks quite thick. Also it has a flat case and longish lug to lug. Do either of these effect its wearability?

@@jaxson9514 i have 17cm/6 3/4 inch and it wears great with a steel bracelet so can't say anything about the rubber strap. The bracelet is pretty hefty so it distributes the weight evenly - i.e the watch is not top heavy at all, and thus it's way less noticeable than say, Longines Hydroconquest. Also the integrated (and automatic, of sorts) diving extension adds to comfort once the tolerances loosen up with wear. That said, it is a chunky watch with a lot of presence. Wears like a 42mm. They recently introduced the 38mm version so check their website, it may be of interest to you.

@@jaxson9514 I haven't had the watch long enough. I suspect it's more of a gimmick. If you rinse your watch after each beach/saltwater immersion, there should not be any issues.

Unique design yet nothing special, IMHO. Rather have a Laco Auchen 42mm with miyota automatic and exhibition case back for $320. This watch is way overpriced.

By the same logic nobody should buy a Mercedes or a Porsche. A cheap Toyota will do, after all, it has 4 wheels and and a steering wheel just the same. What's overpriced for one might be cheap for another.
