Hey Phly, with the new Active Protection Systems in the game there is actually a unique way to bypass them, the APS only activates on projectiles traveling at certain speeds, almost all projectiles in the game will trigger them, however the Matilda Hedgehog mortar rounds travel so slowly that they do not trigger the APS. I would love if you could try and use the Matilda Hedgehog mortars and get a kill... or hell, even a hit on an enemy with APS

Also, its a mortar, I dont think its ever in LOS of the APS, rather than being too slow to register, as its a giant chunk of metal moving toward the tank, it should register.

@Mika AFAIK theres only two tanks with APS and they arent in the same BR bracket, so first there has to be someone even using one in your game, and then they need to be on the opposite team, and then you need to get to them with a low tier tank without dying, without someone else killing them, then actually hitting them. Then also consider how many clips Phly typically uses in a simple video like getting kills in a BT5/7 up-tiered, and times all that previous work by that amount to make a video. It sounds harder than getting a nuke off to me.

The gyro on the sherman has saved my life on many occasions. My first kill in one (not the slow 105 variant in lower BRs) was going full steam down a road, me seeing a T-34 peek over a hill and just winging a shot at it and somehow instakilled it.

Sherman has to be my favourite tank simply because it is amazing for aggressive play, and I love playing aggressively and moving on flanking routes against slower heavier tanks. Nothing more satisfying than clearing a flank and then moving up on a whole herd of tigers and panthers taking out their ability to fight back one by one and then finishing them off. I tried Germans but found them boring to play because they seem to specialize in sniping which I don't find very enjoyable. They're really good, but not fun in my opinion. British is a bit of the same story as the Germans but they start becoming very fun at 7.0 I haven't really played other nations to above 3.3 yet

Hey Philip Phlopious, would really recommend the 1942 il2 with 23mms. Absolute beast at any br, currently counting 12 jet kills, including an su7 and many 262’s. It’s a bawl in air rb, punishing cocky 109 players.

Not to dampen the mood but getting jet kills with something like an il2 is more about circumstances than it actually being effective against them. The 23s are definitely good against tanks and planes.

Fun fact: nearly 1600 B-26 bombers were built right here in Nebraska at Offutt AFB. The last B-26 built was named “The Omaha”. Enola Gay and Bockscar were also built here! I was wondering when Gaijin would bring the B-26 to the game. It’s weird that it’s just now finally here.

My grandfather flew these in the European Theater of Operations with the 9th USAAC. 43 Combat missions from Ardennes to the end of the war. He called her “a Helluva piece of hardware.” Very happy to see this aircraft make it into the game

this plane was a absolute nightmare in its day. Grew up next to a man who serviced these bombers in the European theater. They were a pain to fly, had constant reliability issues, and would light on fire every chance it can. almost every crash landing he witnessed ended in a fireball. Shame too it is such a pretty looking plane.

Cool. I was a pile-it once. But I became a climber instead (tree service). My dad and his twin brother were tankers. During the Korean War but stationed in Germany. My dad put new tanks though testing, made sure they did what they were supposed to on a big course and firing range. He said if you get going full speed, downhill, and slam it into reverse "accidentally"...the asshole in the commander's hatch will fly right on out as the tank does a nose stand before taking off backwards back up the hill.

Phly, the editing on the last round was hilarious. But it gave me an idea. You can use the Alt+F3 Nvidia Freestyle menu to add effects on the screen in real time while playing. One of those effects is an old film type effect. Using that effect along with desaturation, you could play the game just as WW2 soldiers and pilots actually (100%) saw things in real life! Could also mess around with other effects to make it interesting, but yeah. Have a great day.

Phly, the french Br.693AB2 is exactly this plane but 1.7, very cheap. 8x easy to drop bombs and guns. Must play, low tier best tier. Its as fun as the Marauder and more... ty

@@princessapplestrach6327 That was mostly the work of the ablative armor panels I think, they obviously had special materials in the interior too that wouldn't shatter on impact but if the panels were shot off you could kill the crew with a direct hit so seeing a bunch of top-tier tanks battle the Minotaur would be fun.
