2:27 From what I've heard and read, one's reflexes tend to start degrading around the age of 20. I'm not sure how much regular practise would slow that loss, but I think an old gamer would probably still lose to a youngster in a contest of pure reflex. Of course, reflexes aren't everything. Muscle-memory and gamesense will only get stronger with experience. It's that old Bruce Lee quote about "practising one kick a thousand times". An old veteran will probably still stomp any semi-skilled youngster, because they've seen everything the newbie can possibly do a thousand times before. They're so far ahead of the newbie that they're not even playing the same game anymore.

A good example of this is Mew2King in Smash. Dude's 31, has been playing since Melee was the newest Smash, and still plays both Melee and Ultimate at a high level (currently ranked 10th in Melee.)

Can confirm. I'm in my early 30s, and I've noticed I've gotten a good bit worse over the years. Even with nearly 11k hours on TF2, I'm still mediocre compared to how I was in my 20s. But, still a gamer, and will probably die a gamer. Still have brief moments every now and then where my aim from a decade ago comes back, but they're usually short lived. Been wanting to transfer to MMORPGs over FPS lately due to the whole "I can't aim as well as I used to," but I can't seem to find a MMO I truly enjoy. :(
