That's laughable reason to not play comp Dam. Besides you can use hud_combattext_batching if you really can't even barely estimate the dmg you've dealt.

You can call all the damage you deal in that case, or call only when you deal heavy damage(say you hit someone with close range direct rocket or pipe, that's clear 100 call), or play class that's not heavily dependant on calling damage.
