Hi! I don’t speak or understand Russian, so if you mentioned this in the video I couldn’t get it. I’m doing research about this cat “кот баюн”, and also “ученый кот”, and I’m wondering if they have the same origin and maybe are in the same story, and maybe even are the same cat. Since they have a lot of things in common, like how they are story tellers, they sing, кот баюн is sometimes mentioned to have been Baba Yaga’s pet, meanwhile it says that the Oak tree ученый кот is by, the tree is outside Baba yaga’s home. And both of their stories seem to be connected to each other in some websites about them. I’m doing a project which involves collecting a lot of different cats from different cultures and sort them, and both кот баюн and ученый кот are very similar, so I’m wondering if I can place them in the same group together, and get away with it without finding myself in a situation of culture-appropriation. кот баюн то же самое, что ученый кот? not really. The nanny told Pushkin old fairy tales, in some of them there was a glimpse of the character "Bayun the Cat". Different characters, just Pushkin took the character as the basis for "The cat scientist"

@@КотЗадротович Oh man! I didn't expect to get an answer so soon, because I thought it wasn't as big and relevant enough for people to know about it, and answer my detailed and specific comment in a video like this, Thank you!! 😄👏👏💗 So the difference between "Bayun the Cat" and "The scientist Cat" is kind of like the difference between the black cat (being portrayed as bad luck in most european countries), and the Witch's Pet cat? As they have the same roots in culture, but started to grow separetely into two different "characters" or symbols ? But in this case, "the Scientist cat" was an inspiration from "Bayun the cat" ?

@@ogorunova uuuhhmm, then.. what to do? I recently asked a Russian book author who is very into Slavic mythology and said that it would be fine putting them together in the same, and that apparently it’s the same cat.
