Great reaction! I am pleasantly surprised that you were not too confused that the same actor played both father and son in this movie. I have noticed that quite a few western reactors who were completely lost on this. This is a common trope in Indian cinema (Father and Son or Mother and Daughter etc being played by the same actor). It has to do with the whole "reincarnation" idea being a widespread belief among most Indians.

In rig veda the oldest scripture in the world have its descriptions. Although the morden copy we have of rig vada may not be 5000 years old but it still the oldest scripture and the description that it gives of Saraswati river which dryed up 7500 years ago and was resently rediscovered by Satellites that noticed it Dry died river bed.

After its release, the cliffhanger left the whole country wondering "Katappa ne Baahubali ko kyun maara?" - "Why did Katappa kill Baahubali?" It went on to become a part of the pop culture where everyone was asking that same question until Part 2 released. :D Also Mr. K.Vijayendran Prasad is Mr. S.S.Rajamouli's father, they write the scripts together. Hey Ray love your reaction. You understood most of the movie perfectly so I am quite happy about that. There is no defined period as it is a fiction. Just somewhere medieval period. But the geographic reference in part 1 and 2 suggests whole of Indian continent with the royal performers from different regions. Apart from that everything is a fiction. Although I could see the reactions on the moments we would expect but also we would love a bit more of the movie or a scene review.

I felt like the whole Avantika storyline got nerfed in the movie..she was introduced as this badass warrior but was forgotten..also ita kinda lame that she gave her mission to Bahubali after she swore she would complete it even if she dies...a more apt route would have been her leaving quietly Bahubali after they slept together and she gets captured by Mahismati soldiers or maybe she deliberatly gets caught as a way to get inside the kingdom and Bahubali then following her to the kingdom to rescue her but she didnt help as she gets herself free and they together liberate Bahubali's mother...

Hahaha since you mentioned Infinity War, yes, the impact of the ending was the same across India. Now imagine we had to wait 2 years for Part 2. It was agony for us! I'm glad you enjoyed this movie! But if possible watch the movie in it's original language. I know it may get confusing as India has so many languages and multiple dubs of the same movie exists, but the impact of the original voice of an actor can only be felt in the original language. It's not a criticism, merely a suggestion so that your experience is further enriched.

I'm hoping that you decide to watch a few more masterpieces from Indian cinema and I have a few recommendations, 1.
