In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Watcher. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. I recently had a fun double Omniscience run! Omni the Omni, double play Metamorphosis, double play Violence! Hand full of free random attacks!

Is it just me or the only wrath cards you saw in this run were crescendos? One in the middle of act two (skipped for tranquility), and one right before the act 3 boss (taken)

There was also a crescendo very early in act 1, which he didn't even consider because surely you'll see better wrath cards, right?

1:33:30 Amazing that Baalor can still find new interactions and surprises after 5K+ hours spent playing StS. Crazy interaction on this Omniscience/ dup pot play, this game is so deep. Also, I think this is the first Watcher run I've seen without being offered any Rushdown in any act (unless I missed it)

So my minimalist run was lucky but also bs. I decides watcher was gonna be the easiest most likely. After watching baalor and jorbs. My starting bonus was 1 hp enemies. Easy peasy just to get me started. And apparently i didn't take any boss fights. My chest was omamori. During stage one i collected a rush down and a reach heaven. definitely part of my strategy to winning. Fought hexaghost and barely won. 5 hp. And then got violet lotus. ... Well this feeds even more into the strategy. So i had taken two cards but only removed one. Got a transformation that turned into a judgement (honestly I love this card). 11 cards after first act. But I'm playing to win. 2nd act i get two removals and take a talk to the hand (this is the bs part.) I feel, I'm good I have everything i need card wise. Relic wise not so well but the combo is there. Beat champ and get empty cage. Whoop 8 cards left. 3 to remove. I have a vajra, a nunchuku, and, a violet lotus as my combat relics. It's small pickings. Get an early shop and remove one card. And then an event to remove another card. Bam 5 cards. Face reptomancer and two turn it. And then get a bag of prep. ... That's not helpful. It was either this fight or an earlier one where things went from going this is great. I'm gonna do this. To am I not even gonna be able to finish this run. I'd play talk to the hand. Now I took this card in act 2 because i was going for infinite combo, eruption plus vigilance. Everything i had was perfect for it except time eater. I wanted a back up plan for this sake alone. And guess what, time eater is the final boss) now i said i'd play talk to the hand. Well now the game decided that the more cards I'd play the laggyer it would get and eventually freeze. So i had never quit out of a run when playing. It resets the fight. And it happens again. so have to now worry about it. So i check another fight and it freezes. Great. any other boss fight at the end would have ended fast. And then the saving relic pops up in the chest. Calipers. So go on and beat time eater without the need of talk to the hand in 9 turns. not a single point of damage taken. Now the cool part about all this was i got 4 achievements this run. Infinity, barricaded, the transient, and then minimalist. I probably should have posted this on his minimalist video.

Why does playing an attack vs the hard stop u from blocking vulnerable

Late reply but the duality increases dex and adds a debuff to remove that dex at the end of the turn - which gets absorbed by clockwork souvenir, meaning there's no artifact at the start of the next turn which would block vulnerable. So he gets 1 permanent point of dex for the fight but can't block vuln.
