Don't let idiots bother you or you'll die of heart failure before your forty. As for what they call "dubstep" these days being about the drop, according to the majority, it IS. Maybe they shouldn't call it dubstep, but they do. Maybe we should start calling this "realstep" instead? Anyway, they started making "rock and roll" in the 1950's. By the 1960's, it sounded totally different, and probably pissed people off. Technically, "real" rock n roll is 1950's, but people call it all "rock".

because that would combine classical music and 2-step. the name dubstep broken down; Dub - a subgenre of reggae 2-step - a subgenre of UK Garage Dubstep came out of a combo mix between these two. Changing the prefix doesn't do anything but change the subgenre.

I never said that style of music wasn't music. But just because I'm a musician I don't have to like it appreciate every style of everything musical. And yeah, some songs I have heard do sound like nothing more than Transformers having sex. There isn't a solid rhythm structure, it's all over the place with different bass sounds mashed together. If that's what you like then hell yeah, that's cool. But I don't have to. To everyone else that actually recommended music thanks!

I can't speak for everyone but I don't hate Skrillex, I hate Skrillex fans who think that he invented dubstep and think that dubstep is all about drop.
