The beauty of growing up is realizing that those who tormented you when you were young and defenseless are indeed weak and that you were way stronger than them even at your small age. That's also when you realize how powerful and strong you are. That doesn't excuse what such abusers do. Because it's bad and they cause trauma that takes years to heal. But on the Bright side, as you grow up, you realize you are above them and you learn that you are a child of God and that God never moved his love away from you no matter how much the abusers tried, God made sure your light kept shining. And with time the abusers get old and weak. And you see them as small and weak. It also makes you realize that they really were weak people. And that your light will never stop shining

I feel you, although I can not really explain what you went through..but I everyday thank God because I was also raised by my step-dad but God has been good since my he loved me like his own birth daughter despite my mum giving him 3more kids, he is poor but he gave me love, education, protection and the fatherly love that till today I have never had a good reason to think of finding my biological dad, actually it's a few number of people who knows he ain't my biological dad since he doesn't treat me any less than his biological children... I love him so much

As mum’s there is no justification as to why your own girl/boy child can go through such horrendous trauma without any woman picking sign warnings…. Regardless how tired I am I always have time with my child she calls it “mum daughter time”, everyday after school my daughter must either call me if am At work or when she comes and am Home she’s always keen to tell how her day was… it I say am tired she gets upset and so I got used to saying pls make it short because mum is tired… and I make sure I go to her bedroom for catch up… May God take care of our children..

The mum is the cause of all this lady's troubles....If her mum took action of ending that abusive relationship immediately that's from the moment the guy begun to be abusive this lady couldn't have gone through all those masaibus....some men/women tend to pretend to be so good during courtship but after marriage that's when they begin to show their true colors.....Some women tend to choose their husbands over their children and I guess that's why tuna so many street children suffering in the streets, only few percent of women stands for the right of their children and aren't even afraid to quit the relationship for the sake of their safety and that of their children ...A woman should never invest in a relationship she wouldn't want for her daughter.

Teach your child about body autonomy, don’t let everyone hug your child and it becomes a norm , that child need a to know they can say no to hugs , that way they know how to create personal space , know when they are touched inappropriately, and always tell them no one should ever touch them that way and if they do they must tell . Grown men who violate any child are not real men

That's very sound advice. Sex Pests are in your house. Talk to your children, and give them the freedom to tell you how their day was. Most of all please read their body language. Children who have been sexually or physically abused are groomed over a long period of time, they also leave in immortal fear of the abuser. Anyone who comes into contact with an abused child should be obliged to report it. Teachers should be taught how to spot signs of abuse in a child. A dirty unkempt child should not be ignored. A withdrawn child should not be ignored. Doctors should report any injuries they deem to be inflicted by a perpetrator, Neighbours and the wider public ought to question and report abuse when they see it being perpetrated or report it. We need a child protection agency in every County.
