Still a lady picking flowers but the print style cohesive to the rest of the deck. I am soooo happy for you🤗 What an incredible gift!!! These are my dreams decks. I have tarot of Prague, Fantastic Menagerie, mythical creatures & latest Victorian romantic. The mythical creatures tarot is the only deck I have a backup of & by far the most beautiful in my collection. Even so I would still by the larger edition if I could find one in my price range. The baba cards shuffle the best of any deck I have ever used. Just wait until you read the guidebook, it is incredible. Yes please do a walk through!!!! I do not have the fairy tale tarot & it’s on my if I win the lottery list!

Those glasses are so cute on you, Dani! They remind me of Harry Potter even though they are nothing like his glasses! It’s just so cute! :) Congratulations! It must’ve been a wonderful surprise to receive such a generous gift. I don’t own any of Baba studio decks and I mostly won’t own one which is ok.. I am waiting for the Bohemian Gothic reprint to see if I will want it .. who knows :). I understand where you come from with the pip decks because I love to say I don’t read pip decks or thoth but then I am guilty of owning and enjoying both … The Spacious tarot is one of my favorites and the tarot of Vampyres is very close to my heart. Those large decks deserve to be framed! Look at them. Wow .. never saw a deck in that size .. never knew it exists. Imagine journaling with them? You literally can get lost in those cards! I am just happy for you, Dani! Well deserved 🤍 Edit: Dani, these large ones might fit well on your bigger boxes shelf :) ..

I actually just ordered my first Baba deck over the weekend, the Fantastic Menagerie, so definitely looking forward to that arriving. All the decks I REALLY want from them are OOP or still in creation. I want the Alice deck, and Bohemian Gothic which are both rumored to be printed again in the next couple years so fingers crossed on that. Also looking forward to the new cat one that they are currently working on.

Wow! Congrats on the amazing gift. And to have the OOP versions of them! have 4 BB Studio decks. My first was Bohemian Gothic, then i got the VR totally from FOMO , but love it. Then i got the Alice Tarot, then got the Fantastic Menagerie which is my absolute favourite of all of them. The guidebook has a full LONG story about each card which helps you connect to it even better when relating it to the question at hand. My lusting after deck is Bohemian Cats which will be coming out in the next year or 2. . (And my first thought was “wha…you dont have any??!) 🤣💕😻

And I think Alice is going to be one that I’m going to try to snatch up. The fantastic menagerie looks really great but I have Les Metamorphosis du Jour and I think I like that one better!

@@DaniMystic i agree. I have Les Metamorphosis as well and i like it more too! . but the guidebook for the BB is awesome. I have also printed out all the guidebooks for the tarroco decks, im waiting for 2 more to arrive. I got a few more recently . After i ordered them i realized they were from Russia. Then i rationalized and told myself most likely a tarot creator is most likely against the war as im sure alot of Russians are.

The 7 of Pentacles in the Victorian Romantic has been changed (I’m not sure when the change happened, in which edition). The new version is one of my favorite cards in the deck. It’s beautiful.

WAIT! THEY HAD A LARGE MYTHICAL CREATURES TAROT! I NEED one now! I LOVE my copy of the mythical creatures tarot I've been wanting a mythical creatures tarot deck for some years, I didn't like any of the art styles they came in. Until Baba Studios came out with the original black and white I was excited but I didn't like it being non colored. Until they released a watercolored version, It was like the skies opened up and it was like I HAD to get it and my Mom got it for my birthday the year they released. It surpassed my Prisms Visions tarot deck, which I thought was my "soul deck".

Cold foil is like any other foil or gold leafing as far as being applied after the printing and is "on top" and therefore can flake if it is the last layer - however since you cannot feel any texture change then the whole card is probably laminated after the foiling process (very common) and therefore just as durable as the ink on the cards since it is protected.

I have Fantastic Menagerie and Mythical Creatures and I am anxious to get the new Baroque Bohemian Cats when it comes out in 2023.. They tend to be in my category of decks that I treat more carefully just because they are kind of collector quality, but I sense that they would be up to being handled regularly. On the fence about ordering the Victorian Romantic 4th Ed.... Thanks for sharing!

I have a few baba decks. I have tarot of Prague in the large Edition and it’s my favourite by far. I wish I had all the large sized baba cards. I personally feel the baba decks with the wooden boxes are worth the $$$. It’s literally beautiful art in your hands. Do you have the True black tarot Dani? That deck is luscious as well 😊 Enjoy ❤

I do have a couple of Baba Studios decks and the jury is out in terms of how I feel about them. I have the Tarot of Prague with cold stamping and the thing I like about this deck is its sense of humor. I just got the most recent Vic Rom and It’s beautiful and I like the guidebook and the cold stamping is gorgeous. Im still exploring this deck. Are they worth the money????? Not sure. They definitely are high quality, but will I use them? That is the question. What a lovely gift, thank you for sharing.

That’s always been my hangup honestly. I just couldn’t justify the cost if I didn’t like them and I’ve always been so unsure! It’s definitely one of those decks that if I’m not going to utilize it will need to go into the hands of someone who can appreciate it!

You’ll love the Victorian Romantic, Dani! Reads so freaking well! 💕 I just have the latest (4th, standard) edition that comes in a wooden box as well and the companion guidebook (which has now become a go-to resource). Some cards have been changed-Queen of Pents, The Lovers, Page of Swords, and Queen of Wands to name a few. Let us know how the decks work for you! 🤍🤍🤍

@@DaniMystic They used a new 7 of Pents in the succeeding editions, which fits the Victorian theme more! Ace of Pents and 3 of Cups have also been changed. 😅

Is it just me, or does the cardstock seem really really thin for the cost of this deck?

@@brightleaftarot I think this version has a thinner stock vs the succeeding iterations? The 4th edition has an inner core and printed on European casino/playing cardstock (330gsm). Riffles and bridges beautifully. Gale Sal’s channel has a comparison/side-by-side of all editions except the latest one. ☺️

I bought the Bohemian Gothic when Baba Studio said they only had a few copies left (FOMO). I ended up selling it because it was borderless and I never opened it. Karen at Baba Studio said that the new printing (if they print) may have borders so I'm holding out for that edition. Other than the BG no other BS decks have tempted me at all....but...that ginormous Mythical Creatures is pretty amazing 😍 (hint hint...if you ever want to sell it).

It's the first edition for sure. Take a look at my channel if you want to see comparison of 1st, 2nd and forth editions. I like the latest one the best. I have all the BS decks except Fairy Tale and Alice decks. I love them all. I don't need the coldstamping but I don't mind it either. I wish they would guild their edges though. They did guild a few decks and then stopped.

Oh that’s awesome I’m definitely going to check that out! I think gilding would make them extra luxurious! Especially if they did that sort of matte style gilding. I think it would go really well with the cold foil
