Baba Yetu is a beautiful piece written by Christopher Tin. Originally for the video game Civilization IV in 2005, it was later released as the opening of Tin's song cycle "Calling All Dawns" in 2009. The piece was set for full symphonic orchestra plus choir. Tin later set the piece for SATB a cappella plus optional percussion. The version we are singing here is loosely based on Tin's arrangement with modifications that we made to include more of the orchestral harmonies.
The text is "The Our Father" set in the beautiful African language of Swahili. Please enjoy!

I also use my God given inspired poetry for God's glory to recognise the intricacy and wonderful beauty of life that is here on Earth in many forms. When we can connect with true beauty with Love we can find appreciation and Grace. When we can connect with Grace we are blessed with Faith and Faith gives Hope for Life. Faith, the assured expectation of the things hoped for, the evident demonstration of things not yet beheld. Hebrews 11:1. The ultimate Positive psychology. Hope not stress, worry or fear. I must say that I have heard many versions of this magnificent masterpiece, but I got 2 things I love about this version most. 1. In The Male duet part, their voices match nicely. 2. The part where it is only vocals and no instrument, I believe it is the first time I have heard that in any version ever, and I genuinely love it, I can't believe it is not part of the original or any other version :O And all in all, I love the perfect match of all vocals, excellent work!!
