When I used to get in trouble in school, they would call my house and my grandmother would answer the phone. As she didn't speak fluent English they instructed me to tell her in the Russian what I did. I would tell her anything and she would say yes OK! This reminded me of those days!

Lmfao I had a similar situation back in high school but it was this super strict English teacher who called my house because I was failing his class. So my mom answered the phone but she can't speak or understand English so she gave me the phone and I had to talk to him. He was so surprised and told me that he would find a translator and speak through the translator since he didn't trust me to translate whatever he was going to say to them. 😅
