Overall MJ was the peak of stardom. He reached a level that nobody will reach ever again and he did it pre-internet. That guy grew into stardom purely due to his insane talent. He did it in an era where he didn't do crazy things to his voice on tracks. It was all pure talent singing wise and also as a performer on stage. He set the blueprint for all the artists that came after him as well. You can't have a Justin Timberlake, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, Usher, Jason Derulo, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Beyonce, Lady Gaga and even Kanye West without MJ.
