@@baberuthless Fei Long's stage isn't the first stage to have ostensibly inanimate objects suddenly come to life; the mural in E. Hoda's bathhouse stage comes to life at the end of every round and the mural is clearly a painting and not a projection of a video against the wall. I think these two stages are the only stages in the Street Fighter universe that have elements that are obviously fantastical.

I remember seeing this stage for the first time in arcades. I had only played the first SF2 on SNES before this, and at first I blown away by the updated graphics and new characters. But then I got to fight on the new stages like Cammy's which blew me away. And then Fei Long's was cool since I loved dragons and phoenixes, but them moving and roaring after a win really took me by surprise, and even scared me. At first I thought they were just statues too. But the arcade cab was loud, so the roars were loud. I was like 5 or 6 at the time, and the fact they just moved out of nowhere made me even more interested in the stage lol.

Nicely done! Excellent! I really enjoyed this video. I love how in depth you go with the stages. I can't wait for the next SF2 stage you cover (Zangief or Chun-Li 😏 lol 🙏🏿). Fei-Long's stage is definitely homage to Tiger Balm Garden. His stage was sort of even featured on the Street Fighter 2 V anime. Fei-Long meets Ryu and Ken through Chun-Li. While filming his movie he asks Ken to take part in a fight scene that he wants to be real. His theme songs were always a hit. The song from OC Remix I remember downloading and listening to a few years before it was added to SF2 HD Remix. I remember being obsessed with it so much that my friends had to stop me lol. The HD Remix OST I'm not much a fan of overall, but there are select few tracks in my opinion I think are solid.

5:00 You can "unzoom" the game from its default 16:9 aspect ratio back to 4:3 aspect ratio and see the entire stage just like every prior version of the game. This "uncuts" the Chinese text on the floor and the buildings on the top left. This is because HD Remix achieves its fake widescreen presentation by cropping the top and bottom of the screen and zooms in to fill the screen.
@baberuthless2 жыл бұрын
Ah that explains a lot. I was stuck using the Ultra street fighter 2 version on the switch so ill have to check if i can do the same thing on that version as well.
@Tempora1582 жыл бұрын
@@baberuthless You can play in 4:3 mode in Ultra Street Fighter II, but only with the original pixel art; the new HD art is locked to the 16:9 mode. The MS-DOS/PC CD version of Super SF2 Turbo has the very best version of Fei Long's theme. Sadly, it's too short and not exactly loop-able. GameTek/Eurocom or whatever, in their infinite wisdom (pfffft) decided to make it so that there's no such thing as infinite battle time. It kinda makes sense why they did it that way, because all of the music was designed to be played directly off the CD, rather than some compressed format like MP3. Mind you, back then in the early 90's (which is when this port came out), most computers lacked the processing power to 'stream' MP3's, let alone come shipped with a sound card...... that's right... you had to buy an add-in sound card to hear anything off of the games at the time! lol!
