looked like the 2 slightly bigger chicks got multiple bits of fish. but the smaller one was getting nothing 💔 thank God the other parent came to the nest. the little one finally got a few pieces 🙏🏻 now they can all rest and have a nice nap 😭

This is when the survival of the fittest comes into play. As long as the parents are able to bring back enough fish to satisfy the bigger chicks, the smallest will be fine.

The smaller ones get fed usually after the larger ones are sleeping. Then they can eat without hassle. The smaller ones are not ment to eat at the same times as the bigger ones, but as the littler ones get bigger and hungrier too so they will try to compete with the larger ones. There is enough food for all. When the all want to eat at the same time it is rough on the parents but I guess they do the same as their parents did.

It’s not that their overly gluttonous or bad, they don’t know better. They get their food straight from the parents beaks unlike other baby chicks which is why they do that so aggressively.

Dear Lord!! One of the chicks had a big fish it tried to swallow fast and whole so it wouldn’t have to share. And as fast as it was swallowing it you could see it stuck in ID throat! And it was still trying to peck mom/dad for more!!! What gluttonous ugly baby birds! What is the breed of these birds? It doesn’t mention it anywhere what are they called?
