We had an excellent Baby Falls clinic that we orchestrated through the Georgia Canoeing Association this weekend. Myself and 2 other wonderful GCA instructors (Kerri and Kyle) led the class. This video is a bit different from my normal river trip videos in that I have included some of our discussion related to technique for running baby falls, boofing form, different types of boofs and how to do them properly, etc. If you want to skip to everyone just running the falls you can jump ahead to the 23:42 minute mark. But if you are curious how to run baby falls and some detailed discussion related to technique, you'll enjoy the first part.
What I love about these types of classes is everyone starts off a bit nervous and unsure but by the end they are eddy hopping the falls and some made significant progress on their technique and everyone gained a much greater comfort level on the falls. Congrats to all our participants! We had a few combat rolls at the bottom but no swims. You all did so great and stoked for you all as we watched you begin to eddy hop above the falls and pushing yourself outside your comfort zone.
Thanks Kerri and Kyle for the great instruction and also Eric and Jacob for support boating!!
Water level was decidedly low at only 1.39' and only about 225 CFS but still tons of fun and a great day for sure.
