When Momoka was holding Sumomo, she took a piece of a turnip and held it with her mouth. She looked like she got a pacifier (dummy) 😂 モモカがスモモを抱きかかえているときに、スモモがカブか何かの野菜のかけらを口にくわえていましたが、 パッと見だと赤ちゃんがおしゃぶりをしているように見えました😂

@@cinnamonchica It’s just an endearing expression that the gorilla community uses. Some say kidnapping or looting the baby. Mothers don’t like others taking their little ones and run off with them so we say kidnapping or looting.🙂

Well, I think the zookeepers and the Haoko family are doing something right because Sumomo already looks more confident in her surroundings than she did last week and she’s certainly not starving❣️ Getting used to her surroundings and meeting all her family members from the safety of Mama or big sister’s arms is probably better for Sumomo than being alone in the middle of all the unfamiliar sights and sounds. I’m sure that when she decides that she wants to explore on her own, she will - little gorillas seem hard to stop once they get going! 😂😊

It will be allright. She missed 9 months of being a gorilla baby. I am glad she can be one now. She will let go when she is ready.

This tribe gets fed much, much, much better than the Momotaro tribe. They always have fresh fruit and veggies I watch both families all the time and I’ve noticed this.

You are watching 5 to 10 minutes of highlights each day not watching all the time so it would be hard to see what they eat. You see what the videographers want to show you. The Momotaro family get a good diet as well. It just might not be what you think is a good gorilla diet. Gorillas need lots of browse in their diet, that means lots of woody plants and leaves. Browse makes up most of their diet and it is what they would eat mostly in the wild. You often see them carrying around branches and then peeling back the bark to get to the white part inside. Gorillas spend a lot of their time eating things that are fiborous and slow to digest. Lots of fruit is not good for them. Genki's pot belly is caused by damage to her digestive system caused by eating too much fruit when she was younger at a time when not so much was know about a good gorilla diet. The momotaro family mostly have browse in their public outdoor space, it is not as popular as fruit and veg treats and it causes less fights it also gives the gorillas something to do and the videographers something to film. The Momo troop are fed vegies and small amounts of fruit inside, often separated so that everybody can eat in peace without fear of Momotaro who is food aggressive. The exception to that is when they first come out I the morning, the keepers will have hidden treats for them for enrichment. You will see that each member of the family goes to their spot to find treats and it will take them sometime to find the food, think a few peanuts in a knotted fire hose. This is done to prevent boredom and to mimic how much time is spent on gathering food in the wild. Please consider that the Momotaro family have zoo keepers who are knowledge and have the Gorillas best interests in mind when feeding them.
