That’s a big baby! I’ve been hearing this outside these past few weeks….it would be more welcomed if they didn’t try and hunt right where I feed my birds, squirrels etc. I’ve come face to face with young hawks, I’d say three times this season? Once they see me they take off. I mean, circle of life is the circle of life. But it doesn’t need to happen right outside my window. It makes me feel I’m setting the other birds up; but after feeding them for over a year, I can’t just abandon them. I enjoy these particular birds from a distance ❤️

We had a redtail nest near our house for five years, and during breeding season we would hear these juvie screams all day. When the babies fledged, they would fly around making these screams.

@@bcas23 Just discovered 1 or more behind our Apartment building and couldn't place the sound until I saw either Mom or Dad fly into the tree with a good sized meal

We have a baby redtail currently hanging out in the treetops of our property, I hear these calls every morning when I wake up and I always feel so happy looking up into the tree to see him

Almost sounds like an eagle.

That's because a lot of movies use hawk calls for eagles. Look up eagle calls I find them kind of humorous
