Echo is adorable! He speaks so clearly. I notice when he whistles he stretches his neck. So cute. I am so glad he is no longer camera shy. Thank you so much for sharing.

I love Indian ringnecks! It is so nice to see that he is talking so early! Quite impressive! I want to get a couple as well, but I am not sure they will get along with my current birds, Lovebirds. I currently have 8, but they have free flight during the whole day and go into their cages at night to sleep when they are ready, on their own. It is quite a blessing to have birds as pets! Please upload more videos of Echo!! :)

That's right - they can be incredibly sweet birds. Just keep giving him daily attention. He may just surprise you one day and talk. I did have a quaker, Keiko, (RIP) that just whistled and did little tricks, but never talked. That didn't matter to me either. I have all kinds of vids on my channel of her if you want to check them out.

Hi, I just always talk to them. Sometimes I really made my voice animated or louder on certain words. They seem to pick up the words better that way. That is, of course, why you need to watch what you say around them. Ever notice that when you use a curse word, it's usually with a lot of passion and emphasis? That's why they pick up those words - so be careful. It may be funny at first - but it will get annoying. Good luck with your new baby. IRN's are the best.
@scanditube10 жыл бұрын
Adorable. But why were you saying "him?" No male markings yet at 7 months. Did "he" indeed turn out to be a male? My "female" IRN, which I bought as a mate for my male IRN, grew a mustache & ring about a month after "she" moved in. LOL.
@dalsch10 жыл бұрын
You are so right. Echo turned out to be a girl - she's incredibly attached to me, which feels nice, but worries me that she flies away from EVERYONE else. If anything happened to me, I don't know what would happen to her. My hubby is trying to get her to warm up to him, but I've had her since she was 3 weeks old and finished hand feeding her. I have videos on my channel of when she had no feathers, she was so young. I love her - she is the best. She's now 2 years old and going strong. Thanks for the comment
@dannynabaz260510 жыл бұрын
Linda Schmidt I have the same problem with Ruby.. she looks exactly like Echo (I could totally see that Echo was a girl.. I was about to comment it, but you apparently know already ^^).. Ruby is really sweet when she's around me, but if anyone walks in the room, she freaks out and flies over to me (she is almost 18 months, but recently learned how to fly because of some problems with her feathers), and I constantly worry that if anything happens to me then what is she going to do? Which is why I sometimes leave her alone with my mother, so that she can become her "God mother" :)
@dalsch10 жыл бұрын
that's a good idea - Echo is getting more used to my husband, but it's like she wants NOTHING to do with an other person, or even Sasha, my other IRN which turned out to be a male-he's a beautiful yellow IRN with orange ring.
@dannynabaz260510 жыл бұрын
How cute! Oh.. Ruby ONLY wants to be around me, but I guess that's because single parrots attach themselves to the owner, especially if the owner is of the other gender. She is still biting everyone when she's around her cage though.. how are your parrots with biting?
@wisechin66610 жыл бұрын
hi hun just a quick question, do you click echos wings??
@dalsch10 жыл бұрын
I usually do. She has become so very afraid of other people and will fly away from them. If she would happen to fly out the door, she would get very disoriented -that happened to Sheena ( my quaker)-it was a very windy day, and she got startled while on my shoulder. The wind took her up and that quick she was gone. I called and called for her. She is a very loving and trusting quaker- she came down to a neighbor after hearing me calling her and her squawking. Thank God, I got her back. Echo is so very special to me - I don't want her flying away. I just clip the first 6 flight feathers. She can fly-just not gain height, plus she does not go outside of the screened in patio.
@wisechin66610 жыл бұрын
Linda Schmidt I wasn't judging just couldn't tell on the video. I have two IRN's one I had to clip as was flying so fast was afraid of her injuring herself and the other is fine to leave lol
@dalsch10 жыл бұрын
wisechin666 no problem, there's such controversy out there about clipping wings. I happen to love my birds and want them to stay safe and not become 'hawk food'.

exactly, it all about what is best for each individual bird :)

@mistykal1980mf4 жыл бұрын
I know I'm not Linda but I have a quaker parrot that I've had since he was 15 weeks old and he started talking after I had him for 3 weeks. I just talked to him all the time with an excited tone and he picked it up.

hey i soo cool !! i just got a ring neck female 3 days ago shes 8 months old. shes pretty shy how can i get her to gain my trust quicker. shes gotten on my hand a few times already but she flys away right after. and how much should i be talking to her so she can learn to talk??
@dalsch7 жыл бұрын
Echo is now 5 years old. She is very hormonal and wants nothing to do with any other bird (I Have 2 other males, Sasha - 4 years old and Indee - 2 years old). Anyway - females can get very attached to their owner and not like anyone else.

Pippi Longstocking .. I'm so sorry to hear that. Sometimes, when a Bird gets outside the wind may take it and she will get disoriented and lost. If she was used to any of the KZbin ringnecks sounds either of them talking or making the ringneck noises you could go outside around your house and crank up the volume on your device see if that works. it's happened to me with other birds and It can be heartbreaking and all I could do was pray that somebody with a kind heart would find it and take care of it .... also if you have craigslist or advertising locally you could check there to see if somebody would've listed an ad ..found a bird ... or you could even post an ad yourself ... don't describe the bird ... just say bird flew away anyone sees her she comes to this name please contact me and don't put your phone number .. it should reply to your email. that's all I've got .... again sorry that this happened it can be heartbreaking but that is why I clipped the first six flight feathers... they can still fly they just cannot gain height or be swept away and literally get confused disoriented and lost. Keep me posted 🙏

@dalsch8 жыл бұрын
She was 7 months old in this vid. she's about 3 years old now. Keep letting Larry listen to Echo - it will help him talk. Also, if Larry is a boy, he will get a black or orange ring around his neck between 18 and 24 months. Go to my channel, I have two more - especially, Indee, a blue IRN that talks up a storm.

I would like to know if Indian ringnecks are considered too loud to keep in an apartment. Some sites say so, but I would like to hear what people who have IRNs have to say on the matter. Thanks in advance to everyone who is going to reply. I would love to get an IRN, but their noise level is a huge consideration.

have an Indian ring neck 8 weeks old , but parrot pooping any where even on my shoulder !! how to make some use full tip to control parrot's t "poop", could you please give me your advise for it , thanks
@dalsch10 жыл бұрын
When they are that young, it's very hard to do. However, when he starts to become fully feathered, what I would do is: As soon as I get him out of the cage I hold him over a 'trash can' and say 'go poop'. I leave him there a while repeating that. If he does not, no worries. If he does, I praise him - good baby and make a big deal about it. If he does not poop, I take him and hold him over (while he sits on my finger of course) the trash and repeat go poop. You have to be consistent, and do it about every 10 to 15 minutes. Sooner or later he will associate the phrase 'go poop' with the action and that it is a good thing. Other than that, just wear a towel or old t-shirt around your shoulders for the accidents. Good luck.
