Benji is such a good father… reminds me of my dad (girl dad as well)who passed away the day after Christmas…the girls will remember all these beautiful happy moments and time he spends with them…I know I will always cherish those memories I had with mine 😭❤

I nursed my two boys until 13 months for both, and am currently nursing my baby girl who is 7 1/2 months. Benji, you raise a point about potentially being extra tired due to nursing past 6 months. I never considered that since I was exhausted for the entire first year for both my boys. It could be a factor. Nursing meant more broken sleep for me, which wears on you after a while. But I think it had more to do with internal tension and stress levels for me. I was very stressed and harsh on myself with my two boys. I always felt pressured, guilty, and not good enough. I was always worried and overthinking about everything, though I didn’t realize it at the time. Only when I reflect now, I can see it. With my baby girl, I am learning to be more self-compassionate, softer, and relaxed, and I am not as exhausted this time around. Happy new year Travis family!

Regarding breastfeeding in general, the milk supply decreases gradually as baby starts solids around 6 months. It’s not like formula feeding where you keep increasing ounces. We actually don’t produce more milk after 6 months. A baby may nurse more during growth spurts but we’re really not making a big increase in milk as baby grows. It’s the properties in the breast milk that change to accommodate growing baby, not amount of ounces. Breast milk is magical.

I nursed my daughter till she was 10 months and I was exhausted ALL the time! Not sure if it was from the nursing or from a single parent and never having a break lol but nursing in general is very tiring. I can only imagine what it’s like nursing a baby and having 4 other children to care for, Judy is a rockstar! ❤

Going on 8 months of nursing! So baby’s who nurse don’t necessarily drink more breast milk when they get older. It’s so cool because women’s breast milk changes due to the nutrients that the baby needs as they grow. So I think yes we get more tired because maybe the nutrients we put out is more dense and needed and higher demanding? But we don’t necessarily give baby’s “more” milk than what they’ve already been drinking. For example my baby drinks maybe 3 oz of breast milk at most 4 and hes 8 months old. Whereas a formula fed baby might be drinking 6-8 ounces because formula doesn’t give as much nutrients so they need more formula.

Benji, I call that drawer, literally the "What the F&*K drawer!" because that is the initial reaction I have every time I open up my drawer! The most random things are found in that drawer and every household has a WTF drawer, mine is in my kitchen. 😁

We were blessed with 7 babies and I breastfed them all and the longest one was 24 months and yes I did experienced some fatigue and I never was good at taking my vitamins as I am now. Some self care would have helped and I am just learning to care of myself.

Here in the 🇵🇭 moms are highly encouraged to still breastfeed as long as they still have milk, they can breastfeed even until baby is 2 years old. as studies have shown that breastmilk is still best for babies.

Splat mats can be a smidge easier because you can just pick up the mat and put the items in the trash or sink. Throw it in the wash when it gets sticky or wet. I feel you though! We got an alphabet one so it could serve multiple purposes.

Hack for cleaning rice off the floor! I work at a preschool and it’s the worst to clean up lol, but we would spray the floor with our cleaner and then sweep, something about getting the rice and floor a little wet makes it easier to sweep up!!

Happy New Year Travis Family 🎉🎉🎉 Edit: My Sinigang Recipe is exactly like yours Judy, but since my kids doesn’t like radish I put taro root instead and 2 jalapeños just for the aroma, and I use pork belly ribs 🥰 And about breast feeding, since I don’t produce enough milk, I only breastfeed my firstborn (now 17) 6months but more on formula and for my bunso (now 7 and a preemie baby) breastfeed her for 3 months only and more on ready to feed formula, since I wasn’t producing milk anymore 😢 but other than that they are both healthy and strong babies now ❤️

Actually, for breast fed babies their amount of breast milk consumption (volume per day) maxes around 3 months. What changes over time is how long they go between feedings and how much they take at a single time. Once you introduce solids, depending on how well they take to them (exploring vs. actual consumption) the amount of breast milk they consume begins to decrease until they self wean 12 months plus. How quickly that happens varies baby to baby. Some kids explore for a month consuming very little, others explore for a few days and start going ham on the food haha. Just depends.
