Thank you for this demo of so many feet.. in 2015 I got an Ovation server bundle with all the feet, but a year later got married and moved to Scotland. Lived there for 6 years and my server mostly sat. Now I’m back and your video was a wonderful reminder of what some of those feet can do. I’m back to sewing again and I’m excited about it.

I have two Babylock Imagines, one that I bought new for $1,400, and a second that I bought years later at a yard sale for $50 (how could I resist?). I like to keep one loaded with 4 threads and the other with 3, and I always leave medium gray thread in them so they are ready to go. However, would you believe, I purchased several “feet” with the original Imagine, and I never learned how to use them! They looked so complicated and Industrial. So, just yesterday, I tried 16:48 the elastic applicator, and made two pairs of underwear in a few minutes. It was so much easier than I had expected. I happen to have an enormous amount of quarter-inch, white elastic left over from mask-making, and I discovered something really wonderful. You can make colorful looper threads almost entirely cover up the white elastic, which means you can make it into an accent color without spending money on expensive, foldover or lingerie elastic. (Who doesn’t have extra brightly colored thread in every possible color lying around?) And if you raid your closet for all the T-shirts and four-way stretch items that you never wear, you can make a lifetime worth of underwear without spending a cent. (Then raid your ribbon basket and add some cute little bows or tiny appliqués). I’m thinking of having an underwear-making party. Anyway, I thought you could use that idea for one of your “tips and tricks“ videos. Thank you for the inspiration.😊

Excellent, excellent demonstration. I am considering buying the victory to replace my old sergers; one is set up for rolled hem, the other for flat lock. Victory can do so much without re-threading yet is an entry level machine.

You have demonstrated some awesome techniques. My only wish was that a better camera and a videographer would have been set up alongside with you where you can get the zoom in REALLY close. Perhaps future shoots can be set up on a tri pod or an overhead pole with "studio lighting". Whoever you are chatting with is doing her best but she doesn't seem to be a professional videographer.

I have an Ovation. haven't used it much. you only show the Triumph which I know is the newer version of the Ovation, but not sure what you did in the first segment? was that a chain stitch? I've never used that before. mostly used the coverstitch. I didn't realize you could straight stitch with a chain stitch. I'm looking forward to learning more about what my Ovation can do. A friend and I both bought Ovations several years ago. She has since traded up for the Triumph. that's probably not something I'd do right now, but she LOVES the higher presser foot level. The only issue I probably don't like about the Ovation is the presser foot lever being in the very front. I'd prefer it on the side like the Triumph, and also the fact that apparently the Triumph won't sew with the PF up? I'm always forgetting to put mine down, so that is a nice feature. thank you for the video. looking forward to seeing more of your videos. I'm in NE Illinois. not many babylock dealers near me. I bought mine in Madison WI because my friend lived there.

I have Baby Lock machines. I love my sewing machine because there is a lever that controls how fast the needle moves when you press on the presser foot. I have a baby lock Imagine Surger. Is there a way to do that with the surger? It goes so fast.

10:30 “ and when you are working with a serger, you can’t use needles “… As a beginner, I found that out the hard way a few days ago. 😢 🤷‍♀️

If all the tensions are sealed, what happens when a tension messes up? I’m looking at for another server (my fourth). My old Pfaff was great but died after 20 years. I’ve tried two Vikings and have nothing but problems with tensions. Any try at a rolled hem is disaster after disaster. I have been told by members of ASG that Babylock is the way to go but I’ve been steered in the wrong direction before.

I just bought a Baby Lock Triumph. The "KING" of sergers, for sure! But in general I hear time after time, Baby Lock is the way to go with sergers. They've pioneered this technology from the beginning. Perhaps you should go into a showroom and do some test drives on them.
