I'm loving the podcast, I wish y'all would do a little segment on parenting in public, well more, how to handle or diffuse a bad situation in public with toddlers!! My little girl is 2 and she is literally in the TERRIBLE TWOS...I used to not believe in that or just really didn't like to say it because I don't want her thinking she's terrible, I don't like to call her bad or when people say kids are bad, whatever..I don't like to say that because I feel they will hear it and start to really believe they are bad and I don't want my baby feeling like she's a bad child because she's not, but we have been having A LOT of breakdowns, A LOT of screaming, and in public you can only do so much without getting everyone's attention or even getting like child services or the police called to you lol I just feel like we're needing help on calming her down and helping her understand she can't just have EVERYTHING she sees like in the toy section of target when we go🤦🏽‍♀️ we have tried talking b4 we go in, she will say I'll be good, all the positive things but it NEVER FAILS once we are in the store wherever she is going to act out when she don't get her way, example, my husband is a truck driver so he's basically on the road mon-friday so last week me and my 2 yr old went to Kohl's, I forgot her stroller, they don't have carts to put a child in, so obviously she was walking beside me, we were looking for my husband a shirt to wear to a party we went to this past weekend and omg when I tell you she ACTED OUT😡 I WAS LOSING IT! she literally got away from me and was running through the aisles I couldn't catch her, we were basically circling each other, I couldn't see her at one point but could hear her screaming, playing, laughing and yelling you can't catch me, nah nah boo boo momma!! So I finally ended up catching her and obviously we IMMEDIATELY LEFT! Once we got in the car I told her I didn't like the way she behaved in there and how dangerous that was that somebody could have got her and covered up her mouth and took her away and I would have never seen her again and of course she said she was sorry and when I asked her not to do that she said okay she wouldn't do that again, but obviously she's two years old and she doesn't really understand what I'm really saying,She does but she don't! I know I have heard you say y'all went through some bad times with Scar when she was younger, so ANY TIPS, ANY TRICKS, ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated lol

Does she get enough sleep for her age? Do distraction techniques work? Perhaps she sees your reaction as the game so try not to get annoyed which I know is so so hard, but instead try acting like you've seen something amazing like she's got to come and see it, she might copy you and act like it is really awesome as well. Snacks? A friend or family to distract her whilst you do your thing. A toy. A doll you both can interact with. Speak to the doll about what you're doing and get her to nod back at you, ask if your daughter wants to join you and the doll doing the task.. "Hey, Daisy do you wanna help mummy get a shirt for daddy? ..yeah? Great! Do you think Lily would want to join us? Shall we ask her? ..yay come on then let's go!!" Sound excited to get daughter excited too. Ask her opinions and involve her. Suggest you do something for her after. You've probably tried it all, it's so hard I know but I find it loads worse if my daughter is tired. I think that's the cause of most things tbh. Make everything seem extra exciting and don't make it seem a boring chore. Make sure she still has your attention so she shouldn't act up for attention.. 🤷🏻‍♀️ hope you're okay, you'll get through it! X

@@chloe067 thank you so much for the tips, she did in fact need a nap that day, she had took a really early nap around 10am so by 3 or 4 when we were out she was probably tired, I just feel like even the days she does have good naps she tries me, knowing her dad is away I feel like she knows she can push me more, more than she could if it was both of us together with her, but I will definitely try the doll tip, she is definitely going through a phase with being obsessed with everything baby doll rn, so that might work. And the snack too, I keep snacks in the car for car ride issues, never really thought to bring them inside, maybe I will try that too!! Thank you for your advice, I'm definitely going to try some of these tips 😘
