I'm not even 2 minutes into this video and I love you guys! Pastured pigs with a mud hole! That little pig got flattened because it was cold and crawled in beside her. You cut away from the little one who left the nest to go pee or poop away from the nest. Not even 24 hours old and not messing the bed! She may well have had more, they would be easy pickings for even a racoon. She seems a sensible sow and not too hot headed and a little food is going to keep her friendly.

I love watching your family and you and Dutch have inspired me to teach my 4 year old boy with autism and his 2 year old brother how to do a garden in the buckets, so they know that they can do a garden any where they live and I just want to say thank you for all the hard work and inspiration that you guys do every day. When my uncle raised pigs he put up what he called a hot wire around his pig pens. He had bottle piglets too and my little brother who was about 2 or 3 years old at the time would take his pacifier and give it to the piglet he was feeding and take a drink out of the bottle and then give the piglet back the bottle. That night he could not find his pacifier and our Daddy told him that he gave it the the piglets and it was gone and he broke his self from his pacifier that. Love to see new life on your place. You and Rachel done great for not knowing her due date. Now from a fellow pig farmer who also raises pasture pigs. To ensure better birth rates you need farrowing pens. We keep pregnant sows in farrow pens with piglets at least 7-10 days. Our pens are similar to the feeding shed you built for the other smaller feeder pigs. We place boards around sides at least 6-8 inches out so sow can’t lay on them. After the piglets get all needed snips clips and vaccines at about 7-10 days they are released out into the pasture. Nothing wrong with providing a safe environment for your pigs when birthing. Still considered natural raised hogs. I’d also place some chicken wire a buffer on the page wire to keep everything safer. I’m not saying anything negative just some friendly advice because any loss hurts a farm in their budget. I pray you find the lost baby. Again you done a great job for not knowing due date. But I’d also go ahead and convert that other shed into a birthing hut for other sow. It’s always better to be safe than sorry because don’t know her due date also. Rachel my heart ♥️ goes out to you trying to find your baby pig, not giving up, that’s a mother’s heart ♥️ I was that way with our puppies and dogs when we were breeding Schnauzers. Hugs 🤗 🙏🏼 and prayers hope it turns out well. And Kevin is right about the piglets being able to drown. Maybe in the future you can set up a bigger safe farrowing piglets area if you want them in a bigger area for mamas to have more space, but that pen you set up looks enough safe space for the baby pigs 🐖 hopefully mama pig won’t try to push out to wander farther.

Congratulations on the birth of the piglets. I was shocked how very fast you were able to have and move that nursery pen into that area. That was fantastic. I've never seen anyone do such a fantastic job as you both did. Your quick action saved 4 of the babys and the momma. Hopefully the 5th one will turn up. Perhaps it was tried and went to sleep near by. Have to hope G-D is watching over it. Maybe it went in another direction, not in the woods. Check the other pasture. It may have wandered by the goats. Or the other young pigs. It might be a good idea to pen up the other momma, as she may deliver very soon also, and you wouldn't want a repeat of this night. They were probably breed at the same time. I will pray for The piglet's guardian angels to keep the 5th one safe and bring her home to you. The baby piglet with the big ears is adorable. I like the name Dumbo for boy, or the Flying nun if girl. G-D Bless and stay safe.

I’m sorry about the little piggy 🐷 that passed away. I will be praying 🙏 for the other piggy that got lost. Thank you for showing us the videos even when things go wrong or don’t turn out how you want things to turn out. You could have easily kept that part of the video out and just let us see that you found mama pig 🐷 long after the fact that she had babies and we would not have known any thing that had gone wrong. I am really happy that you show us everything on your channel so that others can learn from you when things not only goes right but also when things don’t go as you plan so that hopefully others can learn from your errors or mistakes. I loved that one piggy with those big ears. I didn’t know that baby piggies were able to walk around as much as they did when they are just born. They were so active for just being born. So because of your video I learned something about baby piggies that I didn’t know.
