He is showing us he knows something about language. He is using eye gaze, intonation and phrasing to show a variety of expression and he is demonstrating conversational turn taking skills. Now all he needs is the actual vocabulary to fill in the jargon. Language development is fascinating. There is so much going on in this clip.

Very fascinating to see that he has mastered expression in vocal cues such as pace, pitch, volume, etc, before words. It indicates that expression through vocal cues is actually fundamental in communication and more important than the words themselves. Also, watch when the eye contact occurs. It is very specific. Amazing to watch!

I miss my gran so much. She raised me like a son. I felt sometimes my only purpose in life was to be there for her and sometimes it felt like after her husband passed away, I was a dear friend of hers. I used to pick her up in my car and we'd go for long drives, or i'd take her to the shops. Sometimes we had arguments but often we would share the gospels to one another and have church between the two of us. I found her on the couch and she passed in her sleep which was a blessing I suppose, I saw her last message was that via an sms from an old friend on the other side of the country talking about Jesus. In her Bible, she had a poem called "miss me but let me go". It's been such a long time but I think about her daily and I do not know how to function anymore. She had a really rough life, a sordid life in many aspects. She was a victim of many things and she overcame life threatening situations, the threat of being killed, losing all he possessions due to theft and incredible pain due to health issues. She never complained though, she was my "granny" and I loved her so much. It's been 4 years and I still tear up thinking about her. I don't know what to do but I know how proud she was of me, I was a washout but she'd call me her showpony and embarass me in public. It's embarrassing being an adult man and being called that but if I could go back, I would have given her a hug an and a kiss. I have many regrets, like not showing up for 2 weeks because I was out of the area, and not phoning her when I would do so every 2nd day... I ignored the instincts and paid. I just wanted to ask you, if that's okay... I you were in my shoes, and you were in hers... what do you think she'd be doing or thinking right now? That poem gets me... but it's difficult to let go. Every year things get worse. Everybody around me is dying. I wish I could go back.

@@cowboyanimal_1 Hello from California. I want to tell you that you are beating yourself up and you do not deserve it! I have so many beautiful memories of my grandmother, just like you. I was her eldest grandchild and, believe me , we adored each other. Looking back I know I had disappointed her sometimes especially in my 20’s and 30’s. When I was a little girl I lived with her on weekends at her Victorian home in San Francisco. She was pure love even though she outlived her husband and both sons. Now, at 68, I realize that she understood that I had a young family, a corporate job, and so much to juggle every second. I asked her why she thought it was difficult to tell children anything about life, and not listen to good advice. She said “Dearie, younger people do what they are supposed to do, and older ones do what THEY are supposed to do.” I promise you that you will see her again. Don’t worry so much about the past. The best is yet to come!

My grandaughter was exactly the same replied to you when you asked her a question or talked to her but if you asked her the same question again she always gave you an answer that sounded to be the same as what she had said before Then all of a sudden words started to appear in her speech in answer to the same question asked and again if you asked her the same question again she replied using the words and sounds she had previously given!!
