Baby season daily life: Hitchcock, TinTin and Gin Fizz

Baby season all over the east coast of Australia has blown out, with the numbers of pups being rescued beyond carer capacity.
Between us, Maggie and I could take more babies, however I can't manage this and still be present to care for my parents, so I am rescuing, stabilising and moving them out as fast as I can find carers, which is really tricky at the moment.
These are 3 of the rescues from the last few day; little Hitchcock was found curled up on a park footpath, all cold and quiet. People walked by and didn't notice him in the leaf litter; I didn't notice him for a while and I was looking for him.
Little TinTin was noticed on his dead mother on powerlines; the energy company was fast to get the little guy down, and the next one as well immediately afterwards.
Gin Fizz was found on the ground; I don't think she's off an electrocuted mumbat but she does have a swollen wrist and foot now.
All 3 of these babies seem to be survivors, even tiny little Hitchcock who was obviously born premmie, because he measured out smaller than a newborn but he had a healed umbilical cord and eyes just opening.
The 3 of them are such good feeders, Maggie and I would love to keep them, however this isn't happening. I can't manage dependent pups for the next 3 months.
Tolga Bat Hospital takes donations for me. Tolga is an awesome place in Far North Queensland, which has charity status. By sending donations to them, they get a percentage (and deserve every cent) and they can allocate money to me for batty expenses without it becoming part of my income stream (which makes tax time difficult).

New mom to two 3 month old kittens. One still wants to suckle so I might need a dummy for her. When do you take them off the dummies? Yes we absolutely love the babies and the carers.

They will drop their dummies when they feel ready, this is usually when they are big enough to hang on the airer with the other rescued pups learning to do batty things like eating fruit, flappies and inverting to go to the loo. Once they feel safe enough to hang and move about they dont need the dummy as they dont feel the need to hold on so they dont fall.

Maggie can rest assured that the M&M show not only makes us smile, but frequently makes us laugh and even spit out our drinks on occasion. These 3 are the sweetest little bundles of baby bat ever (of course, I never saw a baby bat I didn’t think that about) Hitchcock with his big eyes and white blaze is so cute, Tintin is a wiggle butt, and also a hedonist I think, and Gin Fizz looks to be 3 hands full of everything all at once, until the bottle is in. They all get that blissed out look while eating. 40 is a LOT of rescues for a season Meg, it’s a population explosion. Thanks for carving out time to share these with us.🥂🥂🥂🖤🇨🇦

@Megabattie [ I'm so sorry this reply is so long! 😖] I know what you mean. Dogs are my life, I'm a fierce rescue advocate, especially for senior and disabled pets. But the smell of puppies? Mum used to breed rotties back in the 90s and I remember spending all my time with them, then in the 2010s it was chihuahuas which are my ultimate favourite. Holding those tiny, wiggly, sniffy little babies..🥹✨️🩷✨️ their tiny little noises, closed eyes and gummy little mouths..and the smell of puppy breath! I'm not an active rescuer, but I donate to genuine rescues by the dog equivalents of your lovely self! My heart belongs to the seniors however. Every old cat or dog should be napping in sunbeams, pottering around after you and getting endless cuddles on their heating pad ✨️🩷✨️🥹 not laying alone in a kennel. Watching your video of you in amongst all the batties and they're all grabbing your phone and you're giving them pets, that was a dopamine hit to end them all! Anyway I've babbled long enough. You remind me so much of my mum..tough, independent, speaks her mind and uses playful insults while giving all her love to her animals ✨️🩷✨️☺️ take care of yourself! I have some names for baby bats if you want to use them. Indy, Hoosier, BBall, ( we are huge basketball fans) Nancy Ellen and Preston. My grandson uses my account and even named it after himself. He’s 16years old 6’2 and a football player. Love you guys you’re the best!

THanks, but I don't accept name suggestions; that way lies madness with my comments sections overwhelmed with name suggestions and people taking "ownership" of the bat I used their name for; they want updates daily on "their" bat and want to name a new bat if "their" bat dies. I don't need that kind of stress in my life again. Besides, I like to name them myself, and I remember the names I give them so I can find their videos later without having to hunt down dates and records to jog my memory.

@@littleboypowerakaprestonan8706 THere are other people who donate and think that entitles them to adopt a bat, including updates for life. I also don't do "adoptions" to raise money either, because the expectation is huge and I don't have the time to deal with it. People then say - get someone else to do the contact and updates, but what they forget is that to get the updates, someone has to ask me for them, and ask ME for the pix and cute little stories. Other groups do adoption certificates with stories about the bat and a photo, but they don't follow up; it's a donation plus certificate and that's all. I don't have the energy to do that because it still requires me to do the pix and stories even if someone else sorts out the donation money and postage and putting together the certificates
