I almost sent to several of my lesbian friends until I heard the lyrics. And from her saying it is a lesbian love story then the lyrics say Boy, then the video ventures symbolically into the straight male fantasy of two women having intimacy. Had she actually re-recorded the song to change just the chorus Boy to Girl...then I could have gotten it. Now it is still a bop but....

babe, i loved the song to a certain extent because don't get me wrong but i didn't quite understand the announcement 'a lesbian love song' and proceeding to sing about a man. like, it's fine to want to include both, we know where you are coming from but it's very strange to have a premise, insert their characters in specific scenarios, then break the expectation with the lyrics. the take where you're being intimate with the dancer looks like something made for fetish men to watch. it would have been more understandable if y'all used neutral pronouns instead of 'boy' :(
