I'm a huge Alien fan and I adored your Tucan Ripley so in the beginning I was completely stoked by the idea in the comments to call her Newt. This sounds good in theory. But they don't tend to stay in one area for that long- plus she would likely be jumping onto the camera to investigate just as she's doing now. Ripley was super interested in phones when I first got her as well and eventually she grew out of it.

I really like Maeve as her name!! Michael Crichton is one of my favorite authors, too. There are at least 2 posthumously published books. A Case of Need is definitely his, but the newest one is someone else. I can't remember the title. I'm currently reading A Case of Need, which is controversial and provocative; so far, so good. Please give Maeve a blueberry or two for me - I think that she will be good for Toupac, keep him young.

EXCELLENT choice, imo, beautiful sounding, with a beautiful meaning. Mono-syllabic names are usually my favorites, because, to me, they're typically "firm & earthy," lol, NOT at all frilly or fussy, & they're easily/quickly pronounced & direct. For those reasons, 1-2 syllable names, max, are generally recommended for pets by animals experts. Plus, inevitability, most people, & pets, will be given shorter nicknames, anyway, especially, if they have 3+ syllable names. 💓Note: I wasn't at all aware of your medical history, &, as a Texan I'm going to say IT, now, and mean IT, literally: Bless your HEART~sweetheart!💕

I just found your channel. I've had many parrots, and find toucans fascinating. Maeve reminds me of a baby parrot -- they are so full of energy. And it takes time for them to figure out what acceptable behavior is. They do quiet down. My parrot Joey is 21 now, and still plays hard sometimes,.

I'm indifferent on the name but I love how much thought you put into it. I'm also really taken in by her antics. She's so soo different from toupac. I don't know much about birds (considering I'm a zoologist that is) but maybe she wants to play/practice hunting? That head shaking motion looked a bit like killing prey to me. Then the food isn't for hunger but just the thrill of eating the kill. Toupac certainly doesn't cone off as the most playful companion so she needs to get all that energy out if the system somehow.
