Walkers should not be used for babies, they need to move a lot on their own to develop properly. Not only the kids can injure themselves in walkers (cut fingers on legs, falling down the stairs), but their muscles must be strenghtened naturally, not in this artificial upward position, their development (both of body and brain) is postponed and they can have problems with their backs. In Europe nobody uses walkers, hangers etc. we know they are not good for babies.

You know, all things can be good in moderation. Sometimes it's okay for small periods of time and it helps them learn how to work their legs. It's only ment to be used with adult supervision and it has to be at the proper height for the length of the baby's legs. Just because you're completely against them or what not, does not mean they're all bad. It's people who misuse the product that makes it potentially unsafe. I personally like using these and I have 5 children and never had a problem.

unfortunately these baby walkers cause harm to the joints of the babies and hinder their natural development. babies should never be taught to stand early! the longer the crawl the better their movement will develop later. also if they crawl it will not cause strain on the joints nor cause malposition of the hip (like baby-walkers do!)
