Omg, thank you so much!!!! 😃 I finally got some of the footage filmed from her shopping trip. I've got to film a little more because I noticed people giving out their phone numbers at the cash register when I went back and watched the footage. Honey just loves filling up her basket! She always tries to open up the bags of treats while I'm distracted. She almost succeeded, too. I've gotta make sure I go when the store has less people, or maybe I should keep that in. People will ask lots of questions when we're shopping and she gets lots of extra attention. Maybe I'll be able to head out there tomorrow. I really want to put up the footage. ❤️ 🐾

It would be nice to see that. However, it is not why I give the tip, so to speak. I realize that since Honey is a wolf and not a dog, her diet will be different from Kibble and canned food. Raw meat 🍖 seems more appropriate for a wolf, and that can get expensive. I enjoy the videos so much that it's a treat for me. I have two dogs, a Boxer/Great Dane mix and a Boxer/Labrador mix. The first one is 11, and the second one is 4. And they are lovely dogs. But I love wolves and wolf dogs I however do not have the guts nor the discipline to own one. You do, and I admire that. There are many people who want to own or get a wolf dog. However, they do not do enough research to find out what it takes to own one, people or other animals get hurt, and the dog is euthanized or brought to a sanctuary. Your videos also show that it takes discipline and consistency to own and care for a fellow apex predator.

Hi, I'm sending this to-the-point message both as a warning and as an extension of hope. Ever wonder how the world can be such a cruel place? Because of people's sin and disobedience to God - the just, loving, and holy Creator of everything. And no one can clean up their sin without first accepting Jesus Christ into their lives, because sin lies at the core of our being and there's no way we can get rid of it ourselves. Yes, I'm proselytizing Christianity, but it's a matter of (spiritual) life and death. If you're already a saved Christian, great, keep up the faith, dive into the Bible, and live in daily repentance. God is real, and He's unlike any of the Greek, Roman, or other pagan gods. He's above all gods, and definitely above his enemy Satan - the wicked tempter and master deceiver. People doubt God's existence and/or goodness because of all the pain and suffering they see on earth. But pain exists because of people's sin, and it makes the world a testing ground for believers in Christ until they die and enter Heaven. Heaven is the eternal reward for keeping faith in Jesus to the very end of one's life. We all deserve eternal punishment in Hell for rebelling against God and His laws. God is merciful, however, and sent Jesus (who IS God but was incarnated as a human) to suffer and die on a cross as a sacrifice in our place. Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life, and is our example to follow. But only by confessing to Jesus our sins - like self-worship, hatred of others, bullying, addictions, fetishes, sex outside of marriage, violence, cheating, stealing, etc. - and by desiring to live righteously, can He restore us and bring us to a sincere relationship with Himself... with God. That is the message of hope - salvation in Jesus Christ. I'll warn you now, that if you think you can live, do, and act as YOU want, instead of as GOD wants (as He outlines in His Holy Bible), and come out perfectly fine, you're going to be in for a sad, sad shock. You don't need to respond to this unless you have questions and want to learn more about the Christian faith. You have to decide your own personal eternity and whether you spend it in Heaven or in Hell.

Bob cracks me up, especially at the dog park. While Honey's busy looking for someone to play with Bob's looking for the biggest toughest dog there. He marches right up to them and puts his head over the other dogs neck to test his demeanor. Thank God over the years, all the other dogs have reacted like he's nuts and not beat him up. But once he realizes the scariest one is safe, all's good in the world, at least to him. ❤️ 🐾

I am sponsoring a wolf in a shelter for wolves and wolfdogs in California, there's a pack of probably 15-20 wolves there, and I can tell you this is how they play and communicate, how new members are accepted into the pack... They don't need a babysitter to carry them around, they are capable and very social animals who need to be free to express their communication range. Then everyone is happy, they can deal with what they like or dislike instead of always reacting to some scary new thing. You obviously put a lot of effort, time and care into raising her right and it will return manyfold.

Fast forward now, Honey is loving her bonding, socializing playtime with the other dogs, flipping around,( she really shows Jake ,your part of my pack big man😅) floppying her body and going in submissive mode = ( Loyalty & trustworthy) And showing Jake the wolfdog pack bonding affection is in the mouth grooming. Saw it on a documentary regarding wolves and wolfdogs, and they show each other their loyalty in their pack by the mouth affection . Said to viewers if you own a wolfdog and he wants to kiss 💋 you in your mouth, let them do it bc if The human owners refuse ,they will feel rejected and hurt.. its just them securing thrmselves in their pack bonding and they Look at their human owners AS PART OF THEIR WOLFDOG PACK..🐺🐺🐺🐺👨‍🦱👨‍👦👨‍👧🧍‍♂️👨❤❤❤

Yes, I do that with Honey. 😃 When she was little, I'd be eating something, and she'd start licking the corners of my mouth, and I'd let her eat my chewed up food right out of my mouth. One thing I've noticed is that both Jake and Honey love it when I kiss their noses over and over. Bob hates it, I kiss his forehead. Every once in a while, Honey will still try and lick the corners of my mouth. Not as often as she used to, but I either read or watched something that said it was one of the things I had to do. Honey looks at me with so much love and innocence whenever I do it. The sweetness makes up for the fact that it's kind of gross. 😃 ❤️ 🐾

I think they do. Don't quote me on that, though 😃 but from personal experience, I've noticed that. Once, when we were at the dog park, a lady brought her 4 month old German shepherd pup. After talking, we realized they were both born on the same day. Honey was twice his size. He was a cute chubby fluff ball, and in comparison, Honey didn't even look like a puppy. ❤️ 🐾

This is so fascinating (and beautiful!) to watch. Question: Am I WAY off base with the following observation? In a lot of the play videos her body language seems exactly like any other juvenile dog playing at the dog park - but something about the face-licking and full-body bows (towards older dogs, I think?) that I see here or toward your older dogs in you home videos looks SUPER "wolfy" to me. It's certainly not a form of engagement I see with the kind of dogs I know. (Note: I'm a Saint man, and I don't train or really spend much time around the wolfier breeds - whether husky type OR shepherd type!)

Honey's an F-1 high content hybrid. 😃 She's got 7% German shepherd in her, but the rest is wolf. But let me tell ya, that 7% makes next to no difference behaviorally. She's a full-time job but she's the best full-time job I've ever had. ❤️ 🐾

Bob knows, that if he dominates the biggest and strongest dog there by humping him, the others will respect and even fear him. But, you are correct. He has been lucky that a big powerful male of one of the giant dog breeds never kicked his butt. There aren't many of these breeds in the U.S,. So maybe there never was a Bully Kotta, Tosa Inu, Tibetan Mastiff, Irish Wolf Hound, Kangal, Caucasian Shepherd or a large male Wolf Dog like Jake or even larger and stronger then him there.

I noticed Honey tends to tuck her tail when she's playing. Normally that's a sign of fear or distress in dogs, but she seems happy. Do wolves have different tail language, or is that just a Honey thing, or what?

Their body language is very similar. Honey tucks it really far when she's frightened, almost unnaturally. I don't worry too much with a slight tuck from her. I love it when her tail is out and confident. ❤️ 🐾

Yrs ago took my 6month old wolf puppy to the dog park, a dog came in and attacked my puppy, dog bit my husband. Owner of dog told my husband she was angry my puppy bit her bitting dog. My husband said let's talk about your dog bitting me 3 times first. The lady took her dog and ran to her car and took off. My wolfdog doesn't like that breed anymore.

I had something similar happen with my last wolfdog, Coco. It's shocking how they want to blame anyone but themselves or their dogs when that happens. The lady ran off with her dog, too. I'm guessing it wasn't the first time. ❤️ 🐾

She was so cute as a baby and a lot easier, too. 😃 Up until she was 6 months old, she'd follow us all over the park. Then, once she turned 7 months, she became much more independent. I'd just have to keep a closer eye on her. But then she decided she didn't want to go when it was time. She'd make me chase her for hours! 😃 The last time we went, we were there about 2 hours before I announced it was treat time at the car. The little stinker made me chase her for 6 hours! It's a 640-acre park. Needless to say, we go to smaller parks now. 😃 ❤️ 🐾

Even if they do, you wouldn't want to keep one in an apartment - at least not a high content like Honey. It will rip it apart. Honey rips our house apart, and she's got a quarter of an acre to run in.. The back door is left open constantly so she can run in and out, and she gets a long walk every night. As loving and loyal as they are, they are high maintenance and high energy! And Christie is with her constantly, 24-7. If she leaves the house to run an errand, Honey goes with her. No too many people can afford the time and energy, and have the temperment, to be as devoted to an animal as she is.

I wouldn't recommend it. 😃 You'd make both yourself and the puppy crazy. They'll eat a hole right through the wall or house if they want in or out. They can get out of any crate. They are perfect puzzle solvers when they want something. They're wonderful animals but are also very destructive. Honey's a full-time job. Our daily schedule for the first year was 2 hours at the dog park, an hour with cats, an hour with people in public places, 5 mile walks, and walking through town. I blew it because I should have had people come over every day as well. She's great with strangers in public but not at the house. You wouldn't be very popular with your neighbors either. they'll start howling at any hour. You also have to introduce them to everything you don't want them to fear in the first 4 months of life. So if it's summer you've got to wear winter clothes and carry umbrellas so when winter comes they don't freak out. Then, of course, you've got all the typical things you'd have to do with a dog, potty training, basic commands, playing with it, preparing raw food, all those fun things. Omg, I just realized I'm writing you a mini novel right now. 😃 We're actually in the process of writing a book on what to expect if you get one. But if you ever decide to get one, make sure you do lots of research. So many of these sweet souls end up re-homed, which is psychologically damaging to them, abandoned, or euthanized. There's lots of sanctuaries out there, but they're usually full, and you end up stuck. So, even if you find a great landlord that will allow it, don't do it. Also, feel free to ask lots of questions. ❤️ 🐾

Certainly a wolf dog would not be a good idea. However, I would recommend only a small to small medium dog for an apartment. Large dogs need more space and a large yard. A German Shepherd would have some of the same characteristics. They are big and strong and have an endless amount of energy.
