I remember asking a while back if you ever thought about doing CBB game compilations, and I just discover this video! Many of these I don't remember at all and this video just proves how good this game is at bringing out the best out of everyone, including Scott. I remember him bringing it back a couple of years ago and completely deconstructing the game to the point where he didn't ever open the floor for questions once, which I found hilarious. And he mentioned it last week or this week at the end of the episode, so hopefully there's a few more would you rathers on the horizon. I have to ask, have you ever met or DM'd with Scott? And of course, thank you for all the work you do. I started listening to CBB probably 6 years ago and only got stitcher premium for a short while to go through all of the episodes once, but now just listen to the new episodes and occasionally look up my favorite moments from the past on KZbin. So your work really gives me a chance to rediscover much of the show's highlights and off-the-rail moments.

Hi Chris, I'm glad you like the videos. I'm also happy to hear Scott has mentioned "Would You Rather" recently, not just because it might mean a return of the game, but maybe it means Scott heard my compilation! I haven't ever had contact with Scott about my videos, though I did speak with him once when he was In Australia doing a radio interview and took a few calls. I asked whether he had heard from any of the people impersonated on CBB and he said one had. Scott didn't say the name, just gave hints, but it had to be Tom Licus. Scott said the guy LIKED Adomian's portrayal of him and asked to be on the show, a generous offer declined by Scott. The only Comedy Bang! Bang! guest who has ever referred to one of my videos, as far as I'm aware, was Ben Schwartz, who tweeted about my first Scott and Ben video and that was pretty cool. Thanks again for your nice comments about the videos.

Woah I played tribes as basically a second job in college and 'shazbot' was kind of a meme emote. Everyone used it as just a sub for 'shit' or 'i fucked up', I just assumed it was a made up word! Never expected to actually learn something from one of these haha. Thanks BFB awesome comp! wish they still played.
@BabyFaceBren3 жыл бұрын
ha ha. I knew shazbot, but I do learn a LOT from making these. Uaatu the watcher? WTF? Star Wars (yawn), all that comic book & superhero stuff (except the Batting Gentleman) is as foreign as Cantonese to me. And I ONLY just learned from making the "Weird Al" video that the theme Scott and PFT sing a lot is "Billy in the Streets"! So yes, these videos are VERY educational. Glad you like the comp!

It's really just a matter of interpretation (and having no idea what ELSE to put there!) Seriously, I was well aware of the possibility of cancellation when I considered an image for that part. Harris and Michael were aware of the sensitivity THEN and that was 12 years ago! Once upon a time, comedy was supposed to be subversive. Now it (mostly) tries NOT to trigger, so I think I got out of that one OK!

I wish they did a LOT of things they used to do. Cake Boss (Cake Boss), Lord ALW, Jarles, oh, hang, on that's just PFT. How about Kid Detectives, El Chupacabra & the baby & the old man (& the goat), or "my wiiiiiiiiiiife!"' and "iiiiit's been?". Why did they have to grow up, when we didn't?
@xKjimmyJx3 жыл бұрын
@@BabyFaceBren every time Scott or a guest says it's been or been a while or my wife or mentions the number 19 (he might have done that one recently) i get a tick in my brain. I know he does too but fights it for some sort of "maturity" or other reason I'm guessing?
@BabyFaceBren3 жыл бұрын
@@xKjimmyJx I'm the same. If he or anyone says "my wife', I think Borat (or Scott's bad impression of him). I sometimes put it in a voice balloon if he DOESN'T say it, but I know from radio that most people get sick of those repetitions pretty quickly. I don't and you don't, but most do. And it's harder for the host and guests to drop if THEY enjoy it. So I think that's why it sounds like Scott is fighting it. Because he'd like to scream "my wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiife" but he knows it polarises the audience. He may have even had people begging him to stop! When the "schmoopy" episode of "Seinfeld" came out (which will tell you how long it is since I was on the radio!) the other two and I on the breakfast show started calling each other (and guests) "Schmoopy" often and just like George and co. found Jerry's "schmoopy", people must've hated it. One night at some promotional do a guy came up and said "PLEASE stop calling each other Schmoopy". So we did. We learned the same lesson I think Scott did, the show isn't for US, but I like all the in-stuff and running jokes from Scott and co. I didn't intend to, but I've started some of my own running jokes (like engineer Cody in the Minority Report computer room) which are ALSO probably starting to annoy some, but, meh.
@BabyFaceBren3 жыл бұрын
I probably should add, it wasn't JUST one of us calling another "Schmoopy". It was then followed by that person saying "I'm not Schmoopy, YOU'RE Schmoopy!". The more I think about it, the more I realise how unprofessional it was and I am reminded of a comment Scott made to PFT after similar fun, something like "our heads are so far up our own asses!", but we were number 1 in a market with all the Melbourne stations accessible so, meh. Just as CBB would still be popular if Scotty Auks threw in a few "my wiiiiiife"s or "iiiiiiiit's" now and then. Then they'd give something to those of us who didn't grow up as well as those who HAVE moved on!

@@BabyFaceBren I see what you’re saying and I think there is merit to it. However, I think that nowadays they are willing to make fun of certain groups of people and not others based on the politics of our time. Most (if not all) of the characters have no issue lampooning Western culture (especially Christian culture) which is fine by me, but making fun of other cultures becomes problematic in a way it didn’t use to. The self-censoring is obvious in a way it wasn’t before and diminishes the feeling of “putting comedy before all” that the show use to have. Don’t get me wrong, I still listen every week and 80% of the time absolutely love it but it is clear that being funny above all is not as important as it used to be on the show.

I'm not sure when Scott stopped doing the game regularly. It was a few years into the show. Someone with more CBB knowledge than I may be able to pinpoint it accurately and hopefully will add the info here. I am planning a new WYR compilation and have a list of 15 games ready to roll, one of my projects for this year.
