Great double reaction. 'Akatsuki' was on the first album - it also pays homage to X Japan's song 'Kurenai'. Su's performance at the Budokan was amazing - she was only 16. 'Amore' was on the second album of course and it was that album's 'Akatsuki' being another Su-metal solo and another power metal style song (one of the very rare occasions where they do have two similar songs - similar style that is, still not the same). Both great songs (as are all her solos of course), 'Akatsuki' is a lot of peoples' favourite and they have played it live many more times. For me I think BOH's bass solo tips the balance in favour of 'Amore'.

Amazing double reaction! I’m pretty sure these 2 songs were originally designed to complement one another. Su and the Kami Band were absolutely insane. I love the “cold start” after Amore’s false ending, with Su re-entering confidently on pitch and in key out of absolute silence. Also, only with Babymetal do we get circle pits to a “love ballad” 🤣. Next suggestions: *Metali (Legend MM): Groovy festival song ft. Tom Morello’s guitar solos. *Yava! (Legend MM): Eclectic and bouncy Ska-metal. Both songs have Kami West intros, and they nail it. You can find both on “For The Fox God” channel with subtitles. 🤘🦊

Su did acting and music school and it shows. Akatsuki seems to be about a lost love (separated by death), she gets cooked alive by those flames, her face gets so red. Su can rock a cape. Su's earpiece battles are legendary, I think they got her a really good custom fit earpiece eventually. Amore seems like the follow up/part 2 to Akatsuki. The lore is that Su is an angelic celestial being sent from Heaven by the Fox God and sacrifices herself to become the Goddess of Metal, the story spans about 6ish songs. Most singers swell up or down to hit notes, Su is a sniper and hits a note spot on, that is why she is so good and one reason she fronts BabyMetal. Su also doesn't need vibrato to hold a note, she can hold note on point with not one waver. Su has skills most singers just can't do, no waver, no vibrato and many others.
@JasonsSongStop3 ай бұрын
You are absolutely right and hit the nail on the head when it comes to Su's vocals. Being able to pin point notes without sliding up or down to them is extremely difficult. Vibrato is the other way to save yourself from leaving a note. But Su can do all of this without leaning on those singer tricks! Haha Absolutely amazing 😁🤟🦊

What do I think? This is my dream double reaction. 😁 "Akatsuki" is one of my very top favorite songs of all time. I have always been into power metal and I'm a sucker for the dueling and harmonizing solos. I'm so glad you noticed the incredibly beautiful bass lines. BOH did a live stream playing it and it's still out there. Su-metal was only 16 years old at the Budokan 2014 shows. Performing there had been her dream since she was a little girl since it's a very prestigious venue and a life goal for any artist in Japan. "Amore" is another of my favorite songs. It's probably eclipsed by "Akatsuki" (pun intended... it has been a while since the last one, haha...). I love basically everything about it: the tempo, the guitar melodies, that amazing bass solo, etc. And also the fact that this is the only Su-metal solo with bright lyrics so, she doesn't have to deal with the memories of a lost love, being trapped into a recurring nightmare or having her heart filled by an endless rain forever. Also, this was the live premiere of the song at the SSE Arena Wembley. Fun fact: the wings are Su-metal's symbol and they are even on BABYMETAL's logo. Yui had the skull and Moa the hearts. The new logo got simplified to accommodate the recent line-up changes. 🤘🦊

Since you've checkout the lyrics, and seen Akatsuki, you should checkout Akatsuki Unfinished, to see how this song sounds as a ballad. Usually when you see the word Unfinished in a Babymetal song title, its basically a stripped down ballad version of the song, accompanied by usually just a piano.Akatsuki Unfinished is a tear jerker. Watch her facial expressions when she sings it, if you get a chance to react to it. The only other song thats as emotional would be No Rain No Rainbow from Legend S Baptism XX, Monochrome from The First Take would be the 3rd most emotional singing perfromance from Su.. 😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘

I always consider Babymetal the whole conjoined effort of compositors, the girls, the technical staff, light, sound, arrangement, the kami band. BABYMETAL is a group. And as a group, they always outperform themselves live. Every time it's that extra mile of having everything set up down to the milimeter for the experience to really hit home. The girls would be even half as famous without Kami Band's Power and Speed Metal that on itself is outstanding. Momoko's long-earned rise to stardom shows that Same way around, playing with the girls bring out the best in the Kami Band, they wouldn't be shining nearly as bright without the girls. Having these intense, positive, high-pitched, clean vocals really gives them room to really give us the full impact of what metal music is. And this synergy they find is what I really like in metal music. I'm not exactly blown away by song that constantly going 100%, constant growl and everything. Look at Amore here, this silent, beautiful beginning, suddenly blasting out and shredding through. I won't just go 100%, when you value some seconds of silence, you are able to get your music to a 200% or even more, make the lyrics hit, the melody hit, you get to breathe and doesn't get worn out by the song instead of that pump of energy you should get.

Even though I like Su's voice in the 2021 Akatsuki performance even more (and the fight scene during the guitar solos adds something unique) the 2014 Budokan is overall my favourite performance. This show is definitely on top of the list of BluRays to get. The Nyango Star Akatsuki drum cover is also worth watching. Funny, thinking about it, the three most stright forward power metal Babymetal songs all start with an A: Akatsuki, Amore, Arkadia. The bass solo in Amore has nice Helloween vibes (Eagle Fly Free).

⚡ / 🔴 🌙 / 💙 "Amore" can be "ah-mohr" (French) or "ah-mohr-ay" (Italian, etc.) In this case it's the three syllable Italian pronunciation. Su sings it that way a few times in the song. That Italian word was used quite a bit in popular songs, so it's well known in the USA, Japan, etc. 'Akatsuki' is from red (aka) and moon (tsuki), but in the song title they substitute the character "kurenai" ( 紅 ), a deep red or crimson color. That's also a nod to the X Japan song 'Kurenai', one of their hit songs. There are a lot of tributes to X Japan in BABYMETAL lyrics and staging. According to the lore from the narrations before the songs, Su is known as "紅の騎士" (Kurenai no Kishi; Crimson Knightess) when she wears the cape and sings her solo songs.
