Babymetal is one of those bands that give you everything and more when you go to their live shows and this song is definitely a "headbanger" that's for sure 🖤🤘

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。When BABYMETAL performed in Australia (Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane) in 2018, they did not perform this song (And in any show in 2018, I guess). Since July 2019, they performed it in almost all shows, so you may see it live when you have a chance. In this video, you heard the crowd shout some words at 04:08. The words are "ki-e-ro 消えろ!" meaning "get out of here!". This shout in Japanese comes out wherever they go on this planet and whenever Su-Metal directs her mic towards audiences.

Your favorites will change a lot the more Babymetal song you discover.
Usually in the first or second reaction, fans will recommend this song. And there are four or five different versions of this song, each with different surprises.

four or five versions?? Does they have different names or???

@@dad_from_scandinavia7763 1. Headbang legend 1997 2. BabyMetal Ave Maria (9min53sec version) 3. Head Bangya!! [Intro](Night of 15 Mix)(LIVE "LEGEND 1997" [SU-METAL Seitan] 2013) 4. BabyMetal Headbanger Moa 5. BabyMetal Headbanger Yui 6. BabyMetal Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!(OFFICIAL) All I can remember is this, and there is another version where the crowd is worshipping the queen. The best part of being at a live performance is being part of a cowd that is just as much of a part of the show as the band. Practicing the calls and responds is so much fun. The story of that song is fantastic too, the transliteration of the lyrics is worth looking into, Josh!
@turbozed2 жыл бұрын
Moa says "Minna no koe zenzen sukunai yo" which means "Everyone's voices are too soft" Yui says "Mada mada zenzen tarahen" which means "It's still not nearly enough" (don't know why she's using Kansai dialect) They're just egging on the crowd to cheer louder.
@Dragonstar-Metal2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I always wondered what Yui and Moa were saying as well.
@Tnakamura112 жыл бұрын
Let me correct what Moa says. She says "Minna no koe zenzen kikoenai yo". And its translation is correct. Oh I guess Yui says it because they does it in Kansai.

Great reaction - and the next BABYMETAL song you hear will be your favourite too LOL. I was so happy they had this back on the set list for the 2020 UK and Europe tour, I got to experience it live for myself which I had wanted to from the very first time I heard it ... and joining in with all the chants and jumps etc, shouting "KI ER O" with everybody as Su held up the mic ... brilliant. 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first (metal?) concert on her 15th birthday, but it is also a sort of coming of age thing. 15 is when compulsory education ends in Japan, so she is taking that first big life decision - further education, start a career, something else perhaps. She is realising that she will never be considered a child again, those first 15 years passed by so quickly and life will never be the same, so she is etching this special night of her 15th into her heart so she will never forget. It is not biographical - they recorded this when Su was still only 14, but I'm sure she could relate. At shows on or near their own 15th birthdays Yui and Moa were each handed the mic and stand ceremoniously by Su half way through the song and they each took over the lead vocals for the second half (only fancam videos exist for both those shows in 2014). The same thing happened at the Legend M show in 2019 for Moa's 20th birthday (the real coming of age to becoming an adult in Japan). You can find the 'Moabanger' from Legend M on the Babymetal Reactor Resource spreadsheet. That one was really special.

You're right, Headbanger is their best song. :) I kinda wish you hadn't watched a compilation video, since I feel like it makes it harder to follow what's going on with all the cuts between completely different shows, but at least you went into it knowing it was a compilation. If you want to watch an uncut performance of this song on your own time, there are a couple good options on YT: Legend 1997 and Budokan. 4:40 "What the...?" Lol, I had the same reaction at first. The lyrics there are talking about "the legendary long black hair" - it's a Japanese cultural thing; if you want to learn more look up 'Du-metal Babymetal Headbanger lyrics' or something similar, and you'll find a blog with unofficial translations that include a lot of helpful cultural context. Hope to see more Babymetal from you soon!

It is moments like 3:03 to 3:35 that suggest that BABYMETAL is in fact #notacult. Yep Nothing to see here! Also let's be real here which ever BABYMETAL song plays next is going to be your favorite lol. It's an undeniable force. Btw you could react to more songs from BABYMETAL with Kamiband Intros like Kagerou or Catch me if you can (Live from Tokyo Dome). Those are undoubtedly some of the most awesome versions of their songs.

Your favorite stage also moves back and forth (slides into the back stage like a puzzle piece) and lifts about 20 feet into the air. The back stage has two platforms that are either flat (level with the diamond section forming one level stage) or they also rise about 10' with video walls.... not to mention there is a video wall behind it all that runs the width and height of the arena.

Yui & Moa have both sang this song live on special occasions and they nailed it. They are incredibly good singers too, but Su is in a different class. Yui & Moa, I know, would be the first to agree.

Nice reaction. Babymetal should do a song called "Are You Not Entertained?" Quote from Gladiator if you haven't seen the movie, I suggest checking it because it is about Entertainment in its' own way. I usually wouldn't suggest for a reactor to do a compilation video because of how it can confuse the view. But you caught it, that you were watching clips from multiple shows. That trips out a lot of reactors. Who then don't know what to make of it. Especially when they're not very familiar with Babymetal. So you get clips from when Yui was still with them. That's up til around 2017. She officially left in 2018. Then you get clips from the avengers who filled in her spot. They danced no singing. With a mic anyway. there are clips where Momoko is singing along because she has gotten to know the song. They will yell out "We Are Babymetal" at the end of the shows but we can't hear them because of the no mic situation. Mostly done because Su and Moa didn't want to replace Yui just yet. Confusing, It can be. Glad you weren't thrown that far off by it. As much fun as that was here's the low down on the song. It's about going to your first concert. In their case it's not autobiographical as the song has them going to their first show at 15. Which is a big deal birthday in Japan, kind of like 16 in the US. The song talks about long flowing hair and that's why you see them hold their hair up. There's a lot more to the song. Many of babymetals song seem like simple lyrics at first but when you dig a bit deeper. You find there's a whole lot more to it. I suggest checking AJ Hartley's KZbin page for very interesting deep dives into the lyrics of Babymetal songs. It's in English even goes over some of the possible different translations and what their Music Videos have to say as well. And finally for extra fun Check out Moabanger as it has become known. Moa gets to take over the song halfway through for her 20th birthday. And the crowd gets kawaii overload. Look for Moabanger from Legend M.

Too bad you picked a compilation video (those usually the away a lot of the entire experience). Otherwise, great reaction and one of my favorite BM songs as well. The stage with the big fox heads is from the Legends S show (a tribute to Su-metals 20th birthday), the insane big stage was the Tokyo Dome show, where they filled the Tokyo Dome with 55.000 fans on 2 consecutive nights.
